Weird series of moves.

Would rather see Wiemer play everyday in AAA and give whatever sporadic 5th OF ABs happen to come up to Roller.

No issue with the Vieira DFA, but kinda surprised at Blalock getting the aggressive promotion.

Will be interesting to see how his usage shakes out. Last pitched 05/15 in Biloxi so should be ready to go for multi inning bullpen stints or maybe they'll start him on Wednesday to push Freddy back to the Red Sox series and get a couple extra days rest.

35 innings above A ball is an unusual move by the Crew…….lets see what he’s got

ps typically if they were going to,push Freddy back they would have waited another day to make the move so as not to be short an arm in the pen but we will see.

looking at other options, they could call up a sounds pen guy but all options either have been up once and was less than impressive (Hergert) or are struggling in AAA now (Clarke, Junk)

I want to see guys like Wiemer playing full time. If not in the Big Leagues, then AAA.

Right now, I wish Chourio, Frelick and Wiemer were in the lineup 6 out of 7 games (assuming they are on the roster). They are our future, and while they will have rough times - we will be better in the long run.

Blake Perkins is a fine back up outfielder, but he's limited at the plate. I'd rather the others guys get the at bats.

Chourio, Frelick, Wiemer, and Yelich make a fine OF/DH set up.

I assume that Blalock's time in the big leagues will be short, maybe just the Marlins series, or a spot start, but then I assume he'll go to Nashville (instead of back to Biloxi).

I don't see Wiemer ever hitting enough to be anything higher than a 5th outfielder and certainly don't think he should be on the roster now.

Would have prefered White but Vieira makes sense. Interesting to bring Blalock up. Has been lights out but I don't know if skipping AAA is the best idea. I guess we shall see.

I would prefer Wiemer gets consistent AB's in Nashville but maybe he will shut us all up and tear it up.

Blalock move isn't surprising when you consider the only guys eligible to be called up on the 40-man are Ashby (pitched on 18th and sucks currently) and Uribe (needs to serve 6 game suspension still). Ultimately it came down to Blalock or a AAA pitcher not on the 40-man. Paredes could have been an option but he threw 32 pitches yesterday and likely needs a day or two down. Zastryzny left his last start injured. Blackwood hasn't pitched in 11 days so maybe is injured. Not really any other options besides those 3 to add to the 40.

When Wiemer takes his plus-plus swing on strike zero or strike one, he swings so hard that his mechanics get all screwed up.  He looks like he could hit the ball a ton, but he needs to make contact first.

Mitch White for Enoli Paredas today? I am surprised Paredas hasn't gotten a shot he has been terrific. Uribe has tossed 6 scoreless innings (4 bb) so he might be close to coming back as well, after Paredas in my opinion.

Bradley Blalock numbers are good at AAA, lets hope he can bring it to the bigs. I think the agressiveness is because at this point we don't have much of a choice, we are running out of options.  I just wish Mark Attanasio would put some WD40 on his wallet to get some better pitching choices instead of picking up everyone elses DFA'd players at crunch time.

What worries me is the 90 degree summer heat comming will eat up the Brewers even more.

Wiemer is the Luis Urias of 2024.  A .200 hitter in a best case scenario.

Makes sense to bring Wiemer up given we face three lefties in a row. My guess is when we're past this run of lefties he goes back down.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I don't care who, I'm done with the Mitch White reclamation project.

I want a 6-man rotation.

I think it is only a matter of time before most teams have six-man rotations with multiple long relievers. I also suspect that MLB will increase the rosters again to 27 to help make it happen.

What's true, however, is that the league wants more offense AND star SPs.

Probably not the thread to once again discuss it, but I still love the idea of losing the DH once your starter is out of the game. It increases that chance that managers will roll the dice with their starters, leading to bigger innings, which would off-set the loss of offense from losing the DH. AND reintroduces the drama of late-inning matchups and having good pinch-hitters.

With White looking like a DFA and Ross hurt it might make sense to bring back Uribe. Have not heard anything about his suspension being upheld or reduced so assume he is good to pitch.

Pretty sure he'd have to serve his suspension first. Given how taxed the bullpen is right now I don't think that would be advisable.

No, that's not the right assumption. I'm not sure if the appeal was just tabled while he's in the minors, but barring any change via appeal, he is still out for the duration as soon as he's been added back to the active roster.
