After doing so well with the strike zone and taking walks lately seems he's had some regression lately with some bad chasing Ks.   Probably pressing a bit since team is struggling but still have to just take the walk if they're giving it.

I'd assume Pit does all they can to sign Skenes this offseason to some kind of extension trying to buy 2-3 years of FA.  Don't know his agent or if it'll work, but I'm sure they'll do what they can but ultimately he just might decide to gamble for the 400 mil.  There's such a risk for injury though that there has to at least be a conversation to had about putting 100 mil in the bank now

I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but I can’t remember the last time he blew a plate appearance. It seems like he almost always hits the ball hard somewhere. I’m beginning to think his numbers actually understate how well he’s hitting.

He's definitely been on the unlucky side so far in September. Through the game last night here is his expected vs actual slash line.

Actual - .227/.320/.568, .373 wOBA

Expected - .303/.388/.603, .418 xwOBA

Has hit into quite a bit of bad luck so far in September and even then he's still put up an incredible slash line through 2 weeks. Also I'm pretty sure both wOBA and xwOBA do not include intentional walks.

They don't announce it until later...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I think Chourio and Merrill are getting close enough to where they could start splitting votes and potentially tip this to Skenes.

Merrill: .288/.319/.497, 125 OPS+, 127 wRC+, -3 DRS, 7 FRV 3.7 bWAR, 4.5 fWAR

Chourio: .276/.330/.478, 122 OPS+, 122 wRC+, 12 DRS, 6 FRV, 4.1 bWAR, 3.8 fWAR

Just a crazy season from all 3, and there's really no clear winner or loser. Narrative from throughout the season unfortunately working against Jackson and probably going to cost him even if Merrill goes ice cold and Skenes has a blow up start or two.

I dunno, recency bias could help him there. But you may be right that the Jacksons will split and Skenes comes out ahead of both of them.

There's really no bad vote here. But anyone who has a different person in the top 3 should lose their voting privileges. :)

Pulling off the #2 seed with a hot finish would certainly help the case, but yeah those are all really good rookie campaigns.

The crazy thing is you could make a case for the Jacksons being the top two full-time outfielders in the NL.

Oh my goodness, did this clip ever make the room dusty for me.

I still think they should show Just A Bit Outside to the whole team.  They're off Monday; that could be good timing.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

It'll be interesting to see how ROY shakes out. I doubt Chourio will get many first place votes - Merrill had a better year (their month by months are remarkably similar though), but Skenes was terrific too.

No one can overstate how incredible he was in an elimination game at age 20 leading the team.   It was a marvel.  Eighth inning, backs against wall, no sign of offense, and he hits his second homer.  There’s no praise too high for what he did.
