Jeff Suppan Civale

or

Teddy Higuera Civale?

We shall see against TBD!

We need consistency from Civale, certainly!

Or we might need to set him free!

3.58 ERA his last 7 games, that is as about as consistent as this team has left.

High Heat Chris Russo on Milwaukee Brewers 2024: "The Milwaukee are sitting pretty, they can almost pick and choose who they want to play in a wild card series, if they choose to go that route over maybe burning themselves out to earn a bye."  Then they went on saying how this was suppose to be a rebuild year after loosing Craig Counsell. LOL

What does that mean? They'd somehow try to win against the Mets and not the Braves or whatever?

I rewound it and listened to him 3 times and it had to do with playing either the Mets or Arizona instead of burning yourself out trying to get a bye by passing up either the Phillies or Dodgers.  He kind of rambles on about stuff.  In other words he thought a bye wasn't that important at the expense of the Brewers getting burnt out trying to get the bye.

Pretty sure I'd rather take 100% chance of getting past the first series, vs 55/45 or 60/40 chance, but that's just me I guess?

Do you think the Brewers would be betting favorites against any of the likely wild card teams, even with the home field?

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

They have higher WS and Pennant odds than the Mets and Braves, which is a pretty good indication.....

That doesn’t necessarily follow mathematically.

The Brewers have a virtually 100% chance of reaching the playoffs. The Braves and Mets have the additional hurdle of reaching the playoffs which lowers their chances of reaching or winning the World Series.

My question is who do we think, would be favored in a series between the Brewers and Mets or Brewers and Braves.

Dbacks have greater than 80% chance of making the postseason and are behind the Brewers in Pennant and WS odds.

I think the Brewers would be slight betting favorites against any of those teams at this moment with home field advantage. Maybe a pick-em with the Dbacks but that matchup is unlikely to happen.

I would think the Braves or Mets, but probably not by much. At least, I personally would "favor" either team based on the Brewers playoff exits the last few years. Hopefully that'll change.

I think there’s a good chance the Braves would be favored over the Brewers now that some of their injured players are back.

I think the Braves superior veteran talent would be the biggest factor.

Without Acuna and Strider and all of their major players having down years (Albies is no guarantee to come back btw as he's still having issues with his wrist and Riley is almost certain to miss the Wild Card round), the worst I see is pick 'em. Home field advantage will matter to the betting markets, even if it hasn't shown to matter as much in real life the last couple years.

Kind of an AK against pocket 99s kind of thing……a virtual coin flip.

But the Braves will likely ( not guaranteed) have Sale going in one of the first 2 games and Brewers would certainly be an underdog against him.

I just want the Brewers to start playing good ball again…….its more fun to watch and I really don’t want this young team to feel like they are gagging to finish the season.

Starts with the offense…….get ahead and allow the high leverage BP guys to rock and roll.

They just need to win the division as quickly as possible.  While it’s unlikely they’ll choke it away, the longer it goes the tighter they’ll become.  Don’t want this to snowball on them.

This is the start of a very difficult stretch of 13 games.

The Giants park is not a good spot for a team that depends heavily on HRs to score runs as the Brewers have in recent weeks.

Then 10 games against playoff teams still playing for position.

I want the Brewers to have the division clinched before our next game on Sunday the 22nd..

Come on, man. Give them some credit. Fans will get tight, I don' t think the players will.
