Opens up a 40 man spot for one Jacob Misiorowski, should they so choose. Though, you’d think that they would have called him up as the corresponding move if that was the case.

I agree but to be fair they are both pitching great in AAA.  Which is a good problem to have.

Think the 2024 Misiorowski/Yoho train has sailed.

Misiorowski has only thrown on 1 days rest a single time and it was a blowout outing where he couldn’t throw a strike to save his life. With the Brewers headed to the WC series, really no point in rostering a guy who likely can only pitch in 1 of the 3 games.

Yoho has looked like he’s hit an IP wall. Stuff definitely not looking as sharp and command not looking as good the last week plus.

I'm not ready to say it's "sailed" when they just opened up a spot on the 40 man roster.

I don't think it's going happen at this point, but I think they'd have use for Mis (or Yoho) without needing him to pitch in more than 1 game with as many pitchers as they're going to end up having on the Wild Card roster due to lack of position player depth.

I think I have arrived at this conclusion as well.

They are both going to be very welcomed on next year's team.

They need inning eaters. Herget has options. Makes sense. Tho, obviously, this stinks for Paredes who has pitched very well the entire season. I would have to think he'll get claimed by a lesser org (?) given his early season peripherals pre-injury. I could be very wrong here, obviously. Herget has pitched quite well as a whole at Nashville for a significant period of time. Very very curious how they choose to use that open roster spot.

Obviously, they could go Yoho or Miz here but I just don't think they're going to force that hand given the issues each has shown of late. They need guys who can eat innings if needed.

My dark horse guess:

RHP Chad Patrick

13-1 season with a 2.95 ERA and 1.10 WHIP at Triple-A Nashville in 25 starts. His last two starts?

12 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 20 K, 0 R

His stuff has looked its best and most composed all season in the last two weeks and he's had an unbelievably productive year. This move would also ensure he's protected from Rule 5. Shot in the dark guess here.

Yeah, I agree that Patrick might get a look (and possibly a start) as we head into the last week. The 40 man opening could easily be used for him.

That's a great shout on the Patrick front. That seems far more likely than Misiorowski or Yoho being added at this point.

He's been on, essentially, a 5-to-7 day schedule between starts. He last pitched on the 15th. So, in theory he could take a Start for the Crew - if need be - some time in the next day or two. Or, in the very least, serve as an intentional long man out of the Pen in, say, an abbreviated Rea start (if they potentially continue to aim toward using him out of the Pen as a multiple inning guy in the post-season).

Think you could maybe even see Herget get DFA'd at some point and Henderson being added for the same reason to get some MLB innings.

I thought about Henderson but I see a tired pitcher. This is the first time in his career exceeding 80 IP. His velo is down a tick. He is essentially a heater/change-up guy at present. I don't think they do it. But, you could be right.

While that's true on his innings pitched, he's only exceeded last year's IP total by 3 innings at this point, so it's not like he's well exceeded his career high in IP. If they bring him up, I'd imagine it be as an opener or long reliever. Not as a SP.
