That is a big haul for 2 years of Crochet.

4/5/11/14 in the Red Sox system.

Meidroth should be an opening day guy for the White Sox, Teel should probably start back in AAA with a midseason call up, Gonzalez should open at AAA and will likely break MLB at some point this year if healthy so three of the guys are on the cusp.

Montgomery was their first round pick this year out of Texas A&M. Looks like he didn't play after the draft so probably open at A+ and finish around AA/AAA depending how things shake out.

Nice deal for both teams. Gotta give up stuff for a high level player.

Teel and Montgomery are really nice prospects. Still prospects, but the kinds of guys the White sox need to get.

Boston gets a top of the rotation arm that isn't costing $200+ million.

Not a perfect one for one, but I'd say Brewers equivalent package is something like...

Teel = Quero (upper level C)
Meidroth = Boeve (upper level hit tool 3B)
Montgomery = Payne/Yophery (lil younger, but our highest rated OF prospects)
Gonzalez = Wichrowski (big stuff at AA)

Overpay by the Red Sox but I am assuming they are going to extend him so not as much of an overpay.

He should get something close to what the current FA pitchers are getting in terms of a contract.

Yeah, that seems like a fair comparison.

And is a big ole "No thanks" from me.

I thought maybe Wikyer Abreu might be sent to the White Sox to make room for a righty bat and alleviate their left handed heavy lineup, especially with Anthony being and OF and almost MLB ready.

with Teel gone and the aforementioned LHB heavy lineup, plus rumors of Devers moving to 1B and Casas being offered to Seattle, maybe a Quero+ for Casas swap makes sense for both MIL and BOS now

The Red Sox could easily afford to sign him to an extension. That's the luxury big market teams have over small market teams like our Crew.

I think if you take out Boeve or Quero I do it, but all 4 is just a lot, especially with the top 2 looking like MLB replacement level is their floor

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

I'm not sure that's a great idea either

I don’t believe McCalvy on this one.

Why would he make it up……especially the last part?

Brewers certainly don’t need to mislead the fan base about how serious they were pursuing a player……..especially a guy like this that nobody thought we were going to get.

I didn’t say he made it up I just don’t believe the serious part.  Or at least his definition of serious.

If you want to tie a couple rumors together, you can tease out a serious attempt. C Kyle Teel was the headline of the return, and Robert Murray has the Brewers in the catching market. A package around Quero would be a serious offer.

I don't know why there would be any reason to doubt the Brewers interest or pursuit.

Exactly and also especially because Crochett makes very little because he has missed so much time.

Was nice to dream what he could have done for us but the price was too high for a small market team that wants to remain competitive for the long run. The best realistic outcome was he remains in AL. He did so all is well.

There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

I see why we were interested because 3 years of a cheap impact arm (assuming no further injuries) is worth a ton. But for that prospect haul I'm fine letting him get away.

About time the White Sox got serious about rebuilding.

Nightingale seems to side with Nate

again could be just a matter of semantics…….Brewers made what they considered a fair offer but others just willing to go higher
