Better return than I thought, not that it’s a great one, I assumed cash or lottery ticket was the ceiling. At least he is Nashville depth with mlb experience

Well, if the season implodes and Perkins+ one more OFer gets hurt he'll be an interesting depth piece. No disrespect to mister Cameron but if we see him in Milwaukee then things are really, REALLY bad.

If Daz does nothing else but untuck his jersey after a game at Busch Stadium, we will have won the trade.

You know this is going to happen, LOL. Do the Brewers play in St. Louis at the end of the year?

Looks to me like the last two moves improved the pitching depth (Priester>Wolfram), but I'd much rather have Yoph Rodriguez then Cam. I guess Lara & Payne allowed them to feel Rodriguez was expendable for the right price.

Man that AAA team sure has a lot of journeymen outfielders .

It’s not just AAA unfortunately.

Biloxi has now #2 OF prospect in the org Luis Lara (who should probably be repeating Wisco after a 95 wRC+ there last year), Jheremy Vargas (who should definitely be repeating Wisco after an 80 wRC+ there last year & has mostly been an infielder), and minor league free agent Bladimir Restituyo.

Eric Brown Jr has been getting looks as an outfielder and Dylan O’Rae will probably be in the mix once he’s healthy too.

I think the inclusion of Yophery was jarring for some because the OF depth is so thin. Payne is the only legit OF prospect we have at an affiliate and he’s 18 in Carolina.

Not really a pressing need with five varying degrees of proven guys under long term control at the MLB level plus Collins as a fine depth option (and maybe even Black getting more time on the grass once he’s back), but the minor league outfield situation is definitely in an ebb state currently.

I'm actually just sad we lost a name like 'Wolfram'. What a gem. BUT, gaining a 'Daz' is a fun name roll of the dize. SO, I think I'm already at break even.

Completely agreed here (as you likely know). I think Black has to start getting primary reps on the OF grass. It's made too much sense for a year plus. Let's just get that ball seriously rolling.

I've never really thought that OF depth in the minors is a thing.  It's nice to try and develop true CF prospects, but otherwise unless all you have are DH/1B type guys (that would be weird), there should be enough tools among IF prospects to find roles for them in the corner OF spots if need be.

This is an interesting thought/concept. I need to marinate on it but I don't hate it.

Yeah. I've always felt that there are hundreds of MLB 4th/5th OFers. If an outfielder doesn't develop into a bonafide CFer, they really have to mash to make themselves more than a backup.

I wonder if the Brewers decided that Yophery was never going to be a true CFer. At that point, a lot of his prospect-luster fades into Carlos Rodriguez/Hedbert Perez territory, as a prospect. Still valuable, but not irreplaceable.

I agree with Joseph that perhaps this gives Tyler Black a lifeline when he returns.

I'm just not sure Tyler Black and Yophery had much leverage on each other. Yophery was 2 years away at minimum from reaching AAA.

If anything, adding another AAA outfielder is a bad thing for Black's playing time there when he heals up..

Must hurt a little for Wolfram to be given up on so quickly by an organization known for reclaiming guys like him. Certainly it was a 40-man roster spot decision, but still...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
