Do they still do the hamburger thing?

Typically they'll come out around 11 wins and say they'll do it if they get to the magic number. They did it a few years back. 2018 maybe?

He’s starting to aggravate me.    Wasting this year because he won’t sit out for a couple of weeks.  Just stupid

This last AB notwithstanding, Haase just hasn’t done a lot to make a case for more playing time this year.

Brian I think it was also brought up the point earlier today that Williams’ relationship with this pitching staff is likely a crucial ingredient of their success or they wouldn’t be pushing Contreras so much.

I won't complain but thank God that 6th run crossed in time because that runner at 3rd was hosed and moving like a sloth.

That was Chourio, who fortunately was hustling all the way. 1 more second and it’s only 5-4.

Not great baserunning by Vaughn, but I won’t be too critical of him right now.

Yeah, total waste of a year where we have the 3rd most wins in MLB and are 12 outs away from a season sweep of the Dodgers.

I’m talking about wasting his year.  He’s better than this.   It’s not like he would be out forever.    This is a good team and he’s up there batting second based on name only.    It’s clearly affecting him

Okay, so William sits for a couple weeks, the Brewers pitchers lose momentum without him behind the plate, Haase hits even worse than Contreras has, and when he comes back there's no guarantee he returns to the hitter he was the last two years anyway.

I'd imagine they've asked William his preference and he said he wants to play through it so they are playing him through it. If it becomes a detriment to the team maybe they tell him he doesn't have a choice and has to take a rest, but it hasn't become a detriment to the team yet.

He calls a better game than anyone else we have, probably #1 reason he is in there.

I was on the Contreras DL side and to wrap it around the ASB. Since that didn't happen I don't think they're going to all of a sudden do it now.  But of course we're not really privy to the info of can it even heal in 2ish weeks or not?  If it can't, then really there isn't a choice other than to play through it, deal with it in the offseason

I don't know why people keep assuming this. The Brewers medical team is smart and they manage injuries conservatively. If he's playing, he probably needs surgery. Which means he has to wait until after the year. So he's playing through it.

If this is true than he doesn’t need to bat 3.    Just accept he’s a worse hitter than durbin and has worse power than Ortiz for this year and plan accordingly

Hall for the 8th and Uribe for the 9th?

I assume that's the plan, yeah. Would be a real nice win if they get it while resting a couple of key guys and not overworking the pen.

Not sure Hall is ready for that

They got Ohtani coming up this inning, and presumably don’t want to use Megill so they’re playing the matchup against Ohtani.

I agree, but he's got the second best OBP on the team behind Collins. So I get the reasoning.

Apparently, Murphy is a great manager after all. His “win today” approach is working.

Any chance he wins backs to back MOY awards? That would be sweet … especially if Milwaukee wins the NL Central over Cloun$ell’s Cubbies.
