In this market, what could we get for Koenig? McGee?

Replace them internally with Myers, Henderson, etc.

This deadline reminds me of the team that’s played well at half time and the coach just says keep doing what you are doing.    While the other team makes a bunch of adjustments and then comes back out of nowhere while everybody just looks around and stares at each other

Looks like one of the "others" in the Bednar deal is outfielder Brian Sanchez, who we originally traded along with Jace Avina to NYY for Jake Bauers.

Sanchez has done nothing but hit all through the minors - 128 wRC+ in DSL, 141 wRC+ in FSL, 129 wRC+ in A ball.

After a somewhat down year last year for Avina (105 wRC+ in A+) he has bounced back for a combined 159 wRC+ between A+/AA this year.

Or the team is winning at half time…..goes into the locker room……coach says we’ve played well but we can play better if we do this and this …..and then they come out in the 2nd half and win the game.

Both things happen…..but only one fits your narrative.

ps and halftime isn’t over yet……2 1/2 hours to go.

Service here is pretty bad, so my stuff won't load. Hasn't O'Hearn been pretty bad the last month or so?

If they arent able to upgrade at short, it'd be nice to have some infield depth at least.

Very very good March-May, bad June, good enough July:

The part where teams don’t change the lineup but play even better in the 2nd half anyway.

If we add someone great…….if we don’t it doesn’t mean the season is doomed.

You left out another option…..a team is down 2 at the half……coach changes defense and decides to replace a player who had a tough first half…….and then they get blown out in the 2nd half.

hypotheticals are fun but they don’t mean anything.

let’s see what happens……I have faith in Matt Arnold…….we all should.

You have a chance to be the number one seed in the playoffs. You can make everyone go through Milwaukee and we are holding on to every prospect we have. We have 12 starting pitchers. Please make a big move that makes you better now. I want a Word Series before I die.

They don't want to ruin the 50th anniversary of 1982 by actually winning something.  Just have to hold on a few more years!

Not much for McGee but I would think Koenig would have solid value. It would be easy to move Ashby to the Koenig role and have Myers or Henderson move to the long relief spot.

I would think that could be a positive move for now and get us a couple nice prospects.

I really am not opposed to selling a couple arms if we could get strong returns.

What is one big move that you want to see?  There’s not a lot of big names available that fit our needs that I can see working out.

Favorite deal so far from a sellers POV?

Probably the Suarez deal for Seattle?  Doesn't seem like they gave up a ton to get him.

He asked about the seller's POV though, not the buyer.

If the A's aren't going to contend this year or next, then getting DeVries is pretty big.

For sellers vantage I think the A's did amazing for Mason Miller. Leo de Vries has superstar potential and the 3 arms they got have some sneaky potential.

I also like Khal Stephens the return Cleveland got for Beiber, there is alot of potential there for a starter who hasn't pitched in a year and a half.

This board might go into meltdown mode if we don't do anything today.

Considering the board went into meltdown mode when we traded Williams for Durbin, and again when we traded for Priester, and then again when all we got back for Civale was Vaughn...I'll take it as a good sign if it happens again today.

As a body of work, I think the Twins are making some good plays.

I think we have to get an infielder.   We are doomed if someone gets hurt for 2-3 weeks.    Let alone whoever we get will replace Ortiz in some fashion or form which will make the team better

im fine with looking internally for bullpen.    We can make that work.  We got guys

we have a bad left side of the infield.
