Tommy Pham is a good add.

Yes he would be if he can get along with Contreras.

Padres seem to want reinforcements everywhere. Wonder what there deal is?

The Padres have always been a super aggressive organization.  Wouldn't surprise me if they made a couple of big moves today.

At the end of the day I do not want Joey Ortiz to be our main shortstop. That needs to be upgraded. Another reliable bullpen piece would also be wise. 7th inning is a problem.

I had been in the Ortiz fan club for most of the season so far. But I feel like I'm headed out the door. I wish there was an obvious upgrade. @Joseph Zarr would say that the upgrade is playing in Biloxi right now, and his name ISN'T Pratt. If we can't swing a surprise deal for Neto or another controllable SS, I'm in favor of giving Ethan Murray a shot.

Unfortunately the Angels seem to believe they'll win the world series every season, including this one. They wouldn't trade Neto

How about this for insane and off-the-wall:

Collins, Quintana, Cortes -> SD

Tatis -> SD OF -> SD SS

Bogaerts -> MIL

Yeah. The Angels are buying right now. That's crazy to me, except for the fact that it is exactly Arte Moreno's track record.

I wonder if there's a clause in Mike Trout's contract that they have to try every year

We should definitely think about using our pitching depth in the bullpen instead of trading for a coin-flip of a bullpen upgrade. It feels like bullpen pieces have been expensive in prospect cost over the last couple of days. A bunch of our young guys will be running up against developmental inning counts anyway.

I think we need two weeks of Turang at SS with Collins at 2B. Let's just see what happens.

I agree that Siegler and Monasterio get few ABs, but if we had better players in those spots, Murph might use those bench bats more. I haven't done any homework on this, but finding someone who can play util. inf. and has a good track record of PH appearances would be great to slot in instead of one of those two.

Collin's has been so good in LF and Turang more human at 2B, I think it is very risky to try out that much new defensively. It is certainly possible that there is a reasonable utility IF out there that would be worth it, so I'm not opposed to doing that.

Unfortunately, that's not really how the Brewers roll. I personally think they'd go the route of Triple-A's Freddy Zamora. We could do worse. Freddy has evolved into a very reliable vet - he just doesn't have any of the emerging pop Ethan Murray does. He's a singles hitter. But he has proven clutch in 2025 so there is that plus quality. Murray has a little dangerous to his game at the dish with a whole lot of highlight reel defense and a cannon of an arm. I've watched his progression since his days at High-A Wisconsin. I just think he is a massively underrated fantastic baseball player. Now that he's fully healthy he is showing out. And, yeah, unfortunately Pratt isn't really remotely ready. He just isn't.

I definitely agree about Collins and Turang. And again, up until very recently, I've been against moving infield pieces around too much. But it's just killing me to watch Joey struggle so much.

Ketel Marte for Made Henderson and Luke adams, who says no

I vote no.  Not that I think Made is untouchable.  Marte is an upgrade no doubt, but I don't think we can lock up that much of the future Brewers salary budgets.  Takes away whatever flexibility for next year they create by trading Peralta and not resigning Woodruff.   If we are willing to move Turang to SS, I would hope to find a better deal for a younger, more cost-controlled 3B or 2B.

I wish that there could be one-year loans, like in English football.

Let Skenes and maybe a couple of other greats who play for crap franchises play for the Angels for one year so that Skenes and Trout can actually win a ring. Otherwise they're destined to barely ever make the playoffs while suffering (for completely different reasons) under Nutting and Moreno.

Kwan would be a good add with his years of control.  Adding a bullpen arm would be helpful as well.  We have Megil, Uribe, and then a big drop.  I don’t trust Mears or Koening in the 7th inning of a one run playoff game.

Mears?   He’s been a stud for us all season. I’d trust him over Ashby, Koenig, and Grant Anderson.   I’d still be okay with any additional upgrades to the BP of course.

Whenever I see pieces traded that I think might help the Brewers, I'm of two camps:

1) Should the Brewers have made that trade?

2) At least they're not going to the Cubs.

I hope the latter continues and we'll see about the former.

We tried Turang SS in spring training and his arm immediately got hurt. The team wont try it in season again. If Turang moves positions we will see it in ST first.

Agreed on Joey-O though. I'd prefer for him to be a bench bat and send one of Mona/Seiglet down

AJ Preller is ******* crazy giving up a top 5 prospect for a closer

I mean, he did trade Esteury Ruiz for Josh Hader, so like, same thing, right?

Oooh, that's a fun one. A's getting DeVries in return.

Sounds like they want to make him a starter.
