I’m one of MA’s biggest defenders, but not cheering Adames would be the most ridiculous thing ever. His finances pale in comparison to MA’s, and he’s entitled to everything he got from San Fran. Just wasn’t in the Brewers’ interest to give it to him. That’s the business. He gave everything he had to this city, and should be paid in kind by the fans.

Not to mention he’s just a legitimately great dude. Excited to cheer him tomorrow.

The Giants are a respectable 10th in runs allowed, but 25th in runs scored. They have lost their last 3 and 10 of their last 12. They would have been in the thick of the WC race if they could have done anything in this stretch - as it is, they're 6.5 games back, and you have to think that all hope has been dashed.

Got to kick'em while they're down. The game tonight is sneaky important to the series because they have their #1 and #2 SPs going the next two days (and we might have a spot starter on Sunday).

I was pretty surprised to look at their record this morning. Between them and the Dbacks the down the stretch schedule probably isn't as tough as it looked when people were comparing it to Cubs a month or so ago when division was tight.

I’d be ok with letting lockridge play for a couple of games over Perkins.    Perkins doesn’t seem right.

Agreed, and lockridge is hitting .280 with a .722 OPS as a brewer. Might as well give him some games until that changes.

WILLY is set for life, if he makes the right financial decisions.

What if he has cousins and wants to pay for all their education?

What if he has people back home in the DR that he wants to help?

What if he has several charitable organizations that he wants to make a significant difference for?

What if he has a sustainable plan to ensure that not just he is set for life, but numerous future generations of his family?

Most importantly, who are you to tell him that his loyalty to a baseball team should be more important to him than any of those things?

He would still be employed by the Brewers and would be making a very, very, very, very, very healthy income!

Please!

To say Adames could make whatever decision he wanted, regardless of financial outcome is probably inaccurate. I would not want to cross one of the most powerful employee unions in the country.

So, again ... the real problem here is the MLB and player's union!

When will someone, anyone -- do something about it?

It's a rigged league, and no one is willing to make a "sacrifice" to make it right?

Sad!

That's a shame in Willy's case ... it really is -- he's already a multimillionaire ... think beyond the wallet for a moment and think about what's really important in the big picture.

It’s not your place or decision to decide what should or should not be the most important things to Willy Adames. It’s just not.

Good grief.

We have had this same conversation about whether or not to be a fan of Willy Adames once every 8 weeks since he left and it is always 99% of the board on one side and one specific guy on the other.

Can we drop this one? This has stopped being a useful topic long ago.

I can certainly have an opinion when a multi-millionaire ignores lots of other things that I believe are more important than grossly enriching himself beyond measure for the average person in society.

It's really not.  More basic common sense than anything.

Apples and oranges ... 🫡

You are operating out of necessity.  Willy is not.

Says who. I could go anywhere to go to college.  I make a good living getting paid what I get paid.

Yeah, I don’t know why the rest of us are peasants living paycheck to paycheck out of necessity just because we don’t make MLB money.

And it's got us the best record in the MLB!

Stick to your guns, Mark!

The keen eye of Matt Arnold also is who helps make the wheels turn.

It will be good to see Willy again. He was a good Brewer. Let's give him some applause, and then strike him out several times.

I haven’t gone anywhere.   What do you mean. 😀

When someone from my office finds a job elsewhere for more money and benefits, I may initially be a little jelly, as the kids say, but ultimately I have happy when people do well in this world with their talents (not at the expense of others, or on the backs of others, as some billionaires do).

I'll feel the same way when Big Woo leaves us.

I’m hoping the shackles will be taken off back home now and the cubs in the rear view mirror.     Brewers seemed to be pressing in offense and pitching this past week

Every stat about the Giants has to be considered in the context of their home park which has to be close to the most pitcher friendly in MLB.

The Brewers get something of a bad break having to face both Webb and Ray in this series. And because they are facing the Brewers they will both probably miss the Cubs series.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

In a general sense where the market is free and fair, I agree!

BUT, the MLB is NOT fair-- it is geared for the big markets to have the best chance at success!

The Brewers need to get the offense going again to take some pressure off the pitchers.

In the last 7 games of the road trip they only scored 27 runs, and 4 of those were in extra innings and aided by the free runners, and 4 came at the expense of the sacrificial lamb Counsell’ put out on Monday to save his bullpen.

Of those runs, only 12 were scored in the first 7 innings of the game. It puts a lot of,pressure on the pitchers if they feel like they have to be near perfect to give the team a chance to win.

For the record I will be applauding Adames when he is introduced as we put our 9-0 season record on the line tomorrow night.

Then I hope to be cheering more loudly when he strikes out. Hopefully he won’t pull an Orlando Arcia on us.

You mean the fair market where massive conglomerates can hire whomever they want from smaller firms and run all the small mom and pop firm out of business?  That fair market?

Maybe someone should start a game thread for tonight. This isn’t it.
