Cubs only pick up 1.5 games in the standings after the Brewers lucked into another win and the Giants beat them.

Nice.   Would have been a disaster to blow this game tonight.    Go to bed happy

Amazing to me all the hand wringing over a team that is currently 5 games better than anyone else in MLB, 6.5 games better than anyone else in the NL.

Basically not losing a game through the 1st 2.5 weeks of August spoiled alot of people

Fans are nothing if not predictable……lol

The more you win…..the more they think you should almost never lose……😎

At least we aren’t the only ones who had a tough time solving the Giants in this last week.

Nice performance by Justin Verlander tonight. He struck out PCA, and fun fact, has also struck out Barry Bonds, Ken Griffey Jr, Craig Biggio, Gary Sheffield.

No he has not because there has never been a Siegler to play in MLB

I'm glad you all pulled it out tonight.  After the 8th somebody came and needed my help getting a puppy out from under their house.  It was one of those games where it felt like if I don't watch it'll probably turn out better than if I do 🤣

The psychology of fandom is fascinating.

I'm pretty sure that Yelich could hit home runs in 10 consecutive at bats, but if he struck out swinging in the 11th at bat you could go to the IGT and there would be half a dozen comments immediately talking about how he can't lay off of that pitch or he needs a break or we're not going to be able to trust him in the playoffs, etc

He gave up 4 hits, 1 which should have been an error and the other a bloop double and 1 walk.

he struck out 10 against a very good offensive lineup yet people are complaining again

crazy

yeah, I think i'm done with this board for the year. the same 4 or 5 posters make reading game threads insufferable.

get your dicks wet once in a while. you won't be so whiny and miserable

I like to play this game where if I'm busy and don't know the score of the game, I hop on this site and look at the IGT...

If it's only a couple pages, chances are we are winning. If it's over 10 page early on or mid game, we are losing big or blew a lead. Over 20 lookout, could be an ugly loss or blowout, major meltdown.

Then I turn the game on, see we are down by only 1-2 runs and or winning even and can't believe how negative people can be sometimes. Do they not realize how good these Brewers teams have been since 2017? We are beyond spoiled. I grew up in bad years of the 90's and 2000s Brewers teams. This is an amazing run we are on. Enjoy it.

I would chill on "stupid." People think this team is good enough to do it this year, and they are just anxious about blowing it, which is tough to argue with given the last few Octobers. We have all been through a lot of pain. I still have PTSD about Puig's ball over the fence in 2018 which I watched from the 7th row behind the plate. That night really hurt. I felt like the stars aligned for us that season. My dad is running out of years to see a championship (he was 8 when the Braves did it though).

I think the regular season will end without the division ever really being in jeopardy though. It is a bit amusing to me though how everyone is so wrapped up in that when even if the Cubs finish 2nd, it's completely possible they just win the WC series and beat us in the NLDS. It's not really much of an assurance to win the division. It will be an anxiety-ridden gauntlet any way you slice it.

For those wondering …   From mlb.com

No, Jacob Misiorowski’s rotation spot was not in jeopardy August 26 heading into his third start since returning from the injured list.

That’s not the position the Brewers find themselves in from a matter of pitching depth. Nor is it one manager Pat Murphy wants for the development of his young flame thrower.

“He’s already shown us he can pitch good,” Murphy said before the game. “These little dealings, getting off track for an inning or two, he’s responded to that, too. I don’t think (he’s) on a short leash. I think he would have to self-destruct because there’s so much potential.

“That’s who we are. We don’t have finished products.”

Totally agree - ive long since felt like no matter what the Brewers do now, it will have no bearing on postseason outcomes - with the exception of winning the division/avoiding the WC round to limit how many series they need to win.  At the moment its hard to argue the Brewers could be in a better position in that regard.

And regardless of their regular season, the Brewers will likely be considered underdogs in any postseason series against the likely NL field - who all happen to be huge markets with plenty of star power on their rosters.

I can separate the two and just enjoy this ride at the moment, though - it is a special run this team is on once again!
