Yup. That would be been nice as well.

That feels like a more obvious pick(and someone on Twitter is doing a "the next player at this position drafted" on Twitter, but... I'm more... interested in that OL.

You can win with pretty average QB play or even without great WRs(SF) if you have a dominant OL and DL.

You're right though, for that exercise, Collins is the better or smarter value pick.

A trade deadline CB would be interesting.  Not sure what quality would be available, but someone over Valentine and able to challenge Hobbs as the starter would be nice.  I swear Valentine has gotten worse each year.  He still make big plays, but then gets burnt on the next.  Nixon is fine - an average starting CB, but an upgrade on the other side would be nice.  Perhaps Hobbs improves as he get acclimated to the system (lost a lot of time due to injury), but depth is still needed.

On DT, I thought Brinson played pretty well last week.  Wooden and Wyatt have been surprisingly strong.  Brooks has been up and down.  Would like to see Brinson for a week or two more before saying it is a need.  But even if he is strong, replacing Stackhouse wouldn't be a bad idea.

For trade outs, I think Enegbare would be a good choice.  You have both Barryn and Cox that can fill the fourth DE. Maybe a player-for-player swap would be possible?

I don't actually know if Valentine is worse or if they just ask very different things of him and Hobbs. They rotate their CBs and they've been playing a LOT more man the last two weeks. Valentine I think is the best in Man on the team... though Nixon has been solid and he's asked to cover the #1 more...

Hobbs is much more physical and maybe better in zone.

I'd have to watch these games over and a lot closer and with A22... and I'm just not invested enough to do that right now, but that's kinda my take from watching.

Who you would want to add would depend entirely on what you're going to play. Marlon Humphrey would be a pretty solid addition... and the Ravens would probably just about give him away at this point, but I wouldn't want to be playing a lot of Man with him either. He's a ball hawk and a REALLY smart CB. I know he's been bad this year, but everything has gone wrong for Baltimore.

DT, I think is probably fine, though if someone is cheap, it's always a good spot to upgrade.

I think this is our team though. There's more than enough talent. They just have to put it together.

Or they could have listened to me.  In my mock that year I had Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Anyone else feel better about last week after seeing the Bengals beat Pittsburgh?

No.  I don't want NFL parity... I want Packer dominance! 😃

Whelen has been low key very good.

I forgot about him.

Big swing and a miss.

Hobbs played 3 snaps last night. It will be 1 in the box because 2 were called back by penalty.

That 4/48 is not looking great.

NFL contracts are a mirage. My hunch is they can probably cut bait after this year and not have to pay more than the signing bonus.

From OTC it looks like a big cap hit if he is cut pre June 1st.  After June 1st its a big cap savings, but that looks to mean paying a $6.25 million roster bonus. I am far from an expert on this but it looks like a decision of cap space versus money.

Lose your top receiver from last year Jayden Reed in the second game of the season. Jacobs drops from 4.4 yards per rush last year down to 3.6 yards per rush through the first seven games.

Yet the offense has improved slightly from 27.1 PPG (8th) last year to 27.6 PPG (5th) through the first seven this year.

Testament to Love maybe making the next step...

2024 Jordan
63.1 COMP% | 225.9 Y/G | 8.0 Y/A
2.27 TD/INT ratio | 96.7 rating | 66.3 QBR

2025 Jordan
70.9 COMP% | 256.9 Y/G | 8.4 Y/A
6.50 TD/INT ratio | 112.8 rating | 73.5 QBR

...guess we'll see if he can keep it up over the back nine.

After his career best game last night Kraft is at 15.6 yards per catch with a TD every five receptions (6 TD in 30 catches) so far this year versus 14.1 yards per catch with a TD every 7.14 receptions (7 TD | 50 catches) last year.

I thought for sure upgrading at Center and Guard and drafting a run-blocker in the 2nd was going to make the run game so much better. It doesn't really seem like Jacobs is worse so much as there's just no gaps to run through.

Yeah, I'm sure there are some advance metrics out there attempting to quantify offensive line play that I am unaware of, but I would guess in a macro sense most Packers fans would agree that the offensive line has been worse this year than last. Love's Sack% has increased from 3.19% last year to 4.48% so far this year, as one measure.

Another hurdle that has made Jordan's improved play (and the offense in general) that much more impressive in the early going.

Rams trade for CB Roger McCreary and don't give up much, just 5th and 6th pick swaps. It feels like the Packers have to do something, Stephon Gilmore still out there but guessing he will only play if paid a few million and he may be near washed up anyway.

Packers miss perfect chance to address their biggest roster concern before the trade deadline arrives - A to Z Sports

Was going to post this. I really believe this team is a CB trade away from being the odds on favorite to at least win the NFC and Gute missed the boat on this one letting him go to the Rams. Not sure who else is out there. Ward in Cleveland maybe but I doubt the Browns would want to trade him.

I was checking out some contract information on Overthecap, went over to the draft section and saw that they are now projecting the Packers to get a 7th round compensatory pick in next year's draft.  Every little bit helps.

I mentioned this in the Game 7 thread, but I think Jacobs needs more outside runs.  The defense has been crashing into the middle every time he gets the ball.  The TD he broke out behind Watson was created because the outside containment was crashing to the OL.

You can clearly see a difference on how the D plays the run when Wilson is in there.

If they are less predictive with Jacob's runs, he will have more room to run.

The more and more I'm thinking about it, the more and more I'm feeling Lafleur has earned an axing at the end of the year, assuming he doesn't turn it around and win the super bowl.  I don't follow coaches at all, so just curious who people have as their top candidates for replacement if he indeed gets fired?

John Gruden

Robert Saleh ( I think he got jobbed in NY)

Hafley, if they want some internal continuity but need a new voice running the show.
