51.3% hard hit rate, .820 OPS and 127 wRC+ vs lefties as a Ray. I understood the move and even liked it with Contreras not hitting well at the time. It just didn't work out

14.3% hh rate, .521 OPS and 52 wRC+ vs LHP as a Brewer. No clue why he cratered

He's still just a .202 career hitter versus lefties and has actually been slightly better against righties in his career.

Sure like how they're taking care of business in Pittsburgh, even with all the injuries.

Yep.   Won a series.   Pittsburgh has been hot too

You're right. But managers are human and have overworked pitchers in this league.

GIF by MLBI still remember when this man ruined Mark Prior and Kerry Wood.

Ah I remember being 6 up like 2 weeks ago and saying I'd be concerned if the lead shrank to 3 games. Someone said the lead would be 2 by that weekend. Good times. So much constant stressing about the Cubs schedule and they never got within 5 in that timeframe, and continue to drop random games to bottom feeders.

Unless average is under 180 or over 300 I dont consider it a relevant stat. And he's been marginally better (99 vs 96 wRC). I also think that when talking about trades at the deadline in-season stats are the most relevant

The Brewers sorta opened it up over the last month to make things interesting by playing .500 ball, it’s just that the Cubs are not good enough to capitalize and go on the kind of hot streak that we did.

They swept the Angels and then followed it right up by getting swept by the Giants. When they have had a chance to get sweeps against bottom feeders like the Rockies and Braves and Nats, they can’t do it. They need sweeps, not series wins and they just kind of fail to get it out of neutral over and over again.

If you're batting average is around .200, that is very significant.

Man you gotta hope Miz can go 5 for a change

I wish they would do the logical thing & move him to the pen for the remainder of the season & playoffs

Your opinion which is fine. I might be too old school but I give a rip what a guys batting average is, or isn't. With how many guys tend to tank post-trade deadline, I don't even think those stats mean much.
