I think there’s a pretty good case for leaving Miz off the playoff roster. The case is, he’s an absolute loose cannon.

I don't disagree, but I think he can give you an inning or two somewhere from inning 1-6. I wouldn't want him later than that and he can't go through the order twice.

And some people here wanted Bauers gone.   It’s me.  I’m some people.

Bauers is better than Hoskins.

I would think so.  I don't see any way he would get a start and we have plenty of relievers.

I'm still skeptical. There's no use for him to be on the roster for the divisional round but in the NLCS he'd be a liability. I wouldn't want that to be the difference between the World Series and the golf courses when this is the best chance of a championship since 1982.

Another stranded for Ortiz. It's difficult to explain how bad he's been this season. The race is on between Pratt and Made. This spring is would give them both the chance to win the job. How much worse can it be?

Lately, I trust him to get through a single inning about as much as Payamps.  And we're stacking 4 or 5 single innings every game.

I think he'd make a solid long guy in the pen for a playoff series - someone to come in if they get down a few runs in a game to keep the key pen arms rested and maybe catch lightning in a bottle for a few innings

A playoff roster should have more reliable arms that can fill that role.

We don’t know who will be healthy and available, but any of the spot starters should be able to do that.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If McGill isn't back, I dont see how you can not keep Miz on the playoffs roster

His stuff is still good enough where most mlb hitters are happy to keep the bat on their shoulders and hope for walks.  If he is throwing strikes consistently then he suddenly looks amazing again.

When he misses right now its not close.  Cards are just trying to play pepper and wait him out

I'm fine if he gets left off the roster. I think with his talent you give him a shot. Maybe if you're up 2-0 you let him start game 3 and throw 2 innings. Let's just remember Jeff Suppan has an October award. Magic can happen in October and he has the arm to be magical.

I love the energy of this idea, and yeah, Ortiz has been brutal with the stick this year so there is a clear need. But there is absolutely no way I can envision the brass pushing Made faster than they pushed Chourio through the system. He deserves the time for everyone to be sure he's ready, and breaking camp with the big league club in 2026 just isn't it.

And as far as Pratt goes, he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire in AA so far, and his September has been particularly brutal.

Like it or not, this has run it back with Ortiz or find a stopgap written all over it.

No way I'd put Miz on the playoff roster. He's just too immature. Murphy just can't trust him to even pitch one clean inning. Right now it's between his ears and the Crew just should shut him down until it's meaningless and then maybe trot him out there in a nothing type game.

Not sure there’s enough speed difference in his off speed pitches.   He should be missing more bats.

Its all location - fastballs he is shooting tonthe corner or top of zone of 6 inches outside or high...ornright down the middle.

Curve either isnt close or hangs in the zone
