Yeah, I've watched one inning of Dodger playoff baseball, and I'm already thinking I was a little crazy for wanting the two seed lol. It's (almost) October! Let the moment-by-moment emotional swings commence!

I have never once gambled on sports. I have my weaknesses like anyone else, but that’s never really been one for me.

However, down the stretch this year, I saw the Reds going off at 100:1 to win the pennant, and I thought, you know, they could get hot with some good starting pitching, sneak in, make a run. There’s always a team that does it, what’s the harm of dropping $10 or even a c-note on that? Could be an interesting rooting interest besides the Brewers.

So I get it cued up, then say to myself, “wait one night—if you still think it’s a good idea tomorrow, pull the trigger.”

Me the next day:

And I’m loving that decision. I’m enough of a wreck watching sports already. I don’t need that evil on me.

Yeah I was hoping the randomness of L.A in a 3 game serious might allow for some craziness to see them shown the door early, but that is just not going to happen.

Reds haven’t scored a run in the postseason since the Obama administration……

One of the Dodgers or Phillies will not be participating in the NLCS. So there is that.

Baseball sure has changed in the past decade or two.    Red Sox Yankees playoff series would have taken over the national discussion on every channel

Now it’s just a regular series with not much hype.  I do wonder if the overbearing use of advanced stats when taking about baseball has turned off the casual fan on these talk shows etc.

I think the casual baseball fan is almost nil nowadays

Maybe the casual baseball fan grew uninterested with the Yankees/Red Sox hype machine.

Ok.   Give me when and where these casual fans are then.

The program guide on Spectrum has “TBA at Milwaukee Brewers” at 8:30 PM on Monday.

Not exactly a convenient time for anyone who might want to attend the game but get home before 1 AM.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Ugh. Makes sense with Philly the other game, they're going to go first.

At least on Wed. you'd think that Seattle will be the late game, I'd guess Brewers will be one of the afternoon games and Philly will be 5-6pm.

They should be the early game on Thurs as well assuming it's Philly@LA.

And Saturday slots on TBS (NL) look to be 12-3 and 6-9 on Spectrum guide…

My guess for that is that the Brewers will be at noon with Phillies-Dodgers as the prime time game.

On Wednesday they have Phillies at 4 PM and Brewers at 7:30. I suppose those are all subject to change. By Thursday it’s “if necessary” territory so that would depend on who is still playing.

FS1 just has several TBA slots where presumably the AL games will appear.

I highly doubt any slots have been decided yet.  If San Diego comes back, that would open later slots for us, especially when we play at San Diego.  If it's cubs I'm sure we will be locked into the early slot with Seattle and LA(assuming they hold on) locked into later slots.

This is why the Dodgers are going to have issues winning 2 more series.

If their offense is clicking, the back end bullpen guys arent going to be a concern at all for them.

Sure, you could say that for any team. If you're scoring 5+ runs a game, it largely won't matter. But that's usually not how the playoffs work, and I would be surprised if they make it to the WS because of how unreliable their bullpen is.

The addition of Sasaki to their pen is very notable, and Treinen is rounding back into form - i think their Pen/walks is the obvious weakness, but its a tough thing to get to with a lead or an even ballgame consistently if they are hitting...when they can string together Snell, Yamamoto, and Ohtani in a playoff rotation with an offense that is going to be very difficult to shut down, they are going to be tough to beat.

Meh.  I'll be surprised if they make the NLCS.
