Surprise surprise. I missed this but Roboscout (August 2nd) pegged the top player in the DSL, *not Angeibel Gomez nor Yostin Pena of the yankees, it was Ricki Moneys with a 100 on the Roboscale (0-100)

"Moneys has a barrel rate of 29%—the 13th-highest mark amongst all 2,090 minor leaguers with at least 100 at bats. That’s 99th percentile."

I think they sign under the radar or projectable types and not big money (usually) for pitchers and sees who sticks. But the past 2-3 years seems a little more pitching in the top 10 bonus payments

Yeah, it's certainly exciting. It seems like such a shot in the dark to find a position prospect, but pitching is even more so a longshot. Just long kids with loose arms who are good athletes and get as many as you can and don't count on any one in a class seems like the best way to go.

I'm actually curious right now, if you could trade Made for Kade Anderson or Seth Hernandez(just to compare top position prospects to top pitching prospects) which sides say no. I'd think they'd all take Made, but if this was last year and Made was #3 or when Chourio was the #2/3 prospect?

Based on the latest attempt at prospect valuation over at FanGraphs a 65FV hitter like Made has $95M in expected surplus value versus 60FV pitchers like Anderson or Hernandez coming in at $70M.

If one believes Anderson or Hernandez are in fact 65FV worthy then the numbers at FG come out even at $95M in expected surplus value.

Think most teams would take Made over Anderson or Hernandez on account of the added pitcher injury risk, which the current evals at FG account for with Anderson and Hernandez half a grade lower.
