This is fine. Name me one example of a Brewer player having a broken middle finger that lingered through the season.

Where's that "Are the Brewers Lucky" thread again?

You have got to be kidding me. We get this on opening day??? 😡

Nobody said athletes were smart. Plays through the pain and swelling for pride in the WBC, then isn’t ready when the bell rings for the team that pays him to perform.

Nobody said BrewerFanatic posters were smart either for that matter

Nice personal attack. Happy opening day.

If we ever win a World Series, I’m pretty sure that lightning will strike the Commissioner’s Trophy as it is being handed to whoever our best player is at that time, killing said player and destroying our trophy.

It's not a personal attack to point out a not very smart comment.

Lead off personal attack of the season. And here we go with the snarkiness. Brewcrew82 gets the nod😤.

How long is he expected to be out?

A month, I would say.  Hoping he is getting some rehab ABs innthe minors before then so we see him in Milwaukee when the calendar gets to May.

Bummed this happened, but for the love of God don't rush back and have this linger the entire year.

Easier to post after watching the game, but this isn't the worst timing to give Chourio a few weeks off. The last year of his life would be quite the whirlwind for a 22 year old. Let him catch his breath, and give the bench guys some ABs and confidence, and get a better sense of the roster.

It also shows off the depth of the lineup, when you go down the line, feeling good about the AB, even without Chourio in the lineup.

Yeah, not a fan of the WBC for just this reason. Could have happened in a spring training game too, but that is a necessary risk. Risking injury in the WBC is not, and is probably a heightened risk as guys are playing more competitively in the WBC, more adrenaline etc. I just don't get the love affair with the cheesy WBC. Guys playing for teams they sometimes have the thinnest of ancestral connections too is just dumb.

I think it did wonders for Fischer's confidence. It seems to have put Ortiz in a good spot to start the year running. Whatever Zerpa has been working on was all but confirmed to be of use. It introduced a lot of casuals to Brice Turang - his MVP candidacy is instantly legitimized if he starts the season strong.

I don't know - how many injuries have we attributed to the WBC thus far? Diaz is the big one but that has a small asterisk because he hurt himself celebrating if I remember right? Maybe Altuve got hurt one year. Is there anyone else I have missed?

The positives of the WBC outweigh the negatives for me and it isn't even close to be honest. It sucks we were the unlucky ones and had the our guy get hit.

Just look at how much it meant to the players from Venezuela. The TV ratings for the WBC were through the roof. Maybe USA fans dont care as much but fans from Venezuela, the DR, Italy, Japan, etc. certainly cared
