And a bit disappointed they just didn't get them in the ribs right there.

You can't let that cleats up slide go without some retaliation.

We haven’t played that game since the Ned Yost days.

Seriously. Think of one retaliatory beanball in the last 15 years or so. Maybe one in the Roenicke era, but not that I recall.

Yeah baby....BEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE!

I’m shocked this team is scoring this many runs without Chourio & Vaughn

Our record says 8-2 … so I will enjoy it despite knowing we have some issues that need correcting

I liked the bullpen usage today. Use your better relievers on a bit of short rest to get the game today. Still have Hall, Woodford, Drohan as long men, and Uribe and Megill to shut 'em down.

Great job by Woody to get almost six, and Ashby, Anderson and Zerpa to close it off.

WIN TODAY, BABY!

My game ball certainly goes to Woodruff. He wasn't A+ with the command, didn't exactly get a ton of breaks, but still gave them 5.2 innings in a real grown-man performance.

Mitchell drives in a pair of huge runs & Ks three times. Sounds about right lol. At the end of the day you gotta hand it to him.

Damn it's fun to watch #22 run the bases.

Just looked at the Cubs box score. Those batting averages to start the year for Craig's squad are TOUGH.

Poor Greg.

Peralta probably hit Siri on purpose.

I guess we’ll never know. A Brewer pitcher throwing intentionally at a hitter on a non-rival team not even in our league just for admiring a HR seems so random that I’m not sure it was intentional or if Peralta just did it on his own. I can’t see Murphy playing that game when they’ve had 100 moments that justified it more.

I am too. It's the woodpeckerness. They'll hit dry spells, every team does. But we all need to give this group props for what they do & how they do it. Approach, relentlessness, pressure. Let the rest of the baseball world call it luck; that's fine with me.

In today's pussified game, yes you can, and will...

It's weird reflecting on how putting up a 4 spot without a ball leaving the infield would be the darndest thing for most every other team, but it's not at all surprising for us.

I am for it, although there’s the game situation. Plunking him would’ve loaded the bases.

I tell ya, Murph never used to do this, but this stacking 3 lefties in a row, knowing you’re not going to pinch hit for them, is a terrible idea. Absurd.

Had they been trailing---and had it not been early to middle innings---I suspect he would've PH. The four-run inning was in the 4th. When you only have 4 position players on the bench it can be tough to make those moves that early.

I loved it in the Stone Age when you had ten pitchers & could carry seven bench guys & make all kind of moves. Those days are long gone.

Yeah, would imagine he was saving Sanchez, Lockridge, Matos to pinch hit for some of those lefties if the Red Sox would have gotten a lead and went to Chapman in the 9th.

Plus, you got the 100mph Miz throwing tomorrow. Gonna hurt a bit more. *evil smile*

Though I don't want them to do it.

It's been a long time but I have to say... I wouldn't have been mad at them if it had happened, although the brawl that followed (and it would have followed) might have cost us players and games so yeah, keeping your cool is better.  Wilson Contreras is a colossal jackass.  Always has been.

41 pitches on Saturday for Ashby as he walks the leadoff man.

He's come in & walked the first man he's faced plenty in his career, well-rested or not. I wouldn't equate that with his Saturday pitch count.

2 hits is rough? Tough crowd

I think rough day isn't totally unfair. He K'd w/the runner on 3rd & no outs. K'd with 1st & 2nd and no outs. I give him credit for the swinging bunt just for the fact they were loaded & you need contact there. His last AB was monstrous, for sure. It's going to be interesting to see his year unfold. The large strikeout issue, but really impressive tools. The injuries stealing hundreds of ABs from his developmental curve. Just a lot of questions. But a very productive first ten games, no doubting that.
