No to Peralta, a BIG, GIANT, NO!

He's been terrible, and is nothing close to an innings eater.  He wasn't that here, and he isn't that in NY either.

We can do a lot better than Peralta.

There are plenty of reasons that one isn't going to happen, but he fits the bill really well as a buy low mid rotation guy right now. Plus if he gets back into Brewer form then he can 5 and dive as my #3 playoff starter any day. As I mentioned there are better names available but I'm looking to make a trade without sending a top 8ish prospect.

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

How about Vaughn, Sal, and Coleman Crow to the Guardians for Gavin Williams and David Fry

We give up backups at this point for a young contollable upside arm and a bench bat. The Guardians get 2 much needed upgrades at position they need to upgrade and a rotation ready player.

I don't think Cleveland is doing that trade in my opinion

Cleveland is still very much in the race for the AFC Central. No way in the world they trade a top pitcher for that type of return.

Don't see Robbie Ray's name thrown around much here or out in the media.  Seems like he's rebounded and been fairly solid the last two years, only signed through this year and would probably owe him around 11 mil by the time he's acquired.  Many teams would likely look to have SF eat some of the salary.  Maybe offer to take it all on to reduce prospect pay out.  Or you can make the other argument, that we could entice them to pay more money due to how much better prospects we could afford to give.   Either way, can't imagine the prospect cost is all too much for him.

I wouldn't touch Ray with a 50ft pole. His home/away splits are brutal. Plus the Dodgers lit him up in his one appearance against them.

Teams generally don't trade good players for "backups."

In that case though Vaughn and Sal would both likely be starting for them as they're desperate for offense and regulars on offense.  Though I haven't looked into how some of their callups have been doing.   Still, yea I agree I don't see them giving up a pitcher like that. Have to remember Vaughn will be in the 10 mill area or gone next year, they don't love paying money in that world.  Sal while adequate is likely ceilinged at about what he is now.  I generally like Crow and think he has a chance, but still don't think this is enough for them

I think Joe Ryan would be an excellent target to trade a good prospect for, as you would have him under team control next season as well.

Sure, but it would cost Made or Pena types etc. The remaining team control means the  Twins do not need to trade Ryan unless an offer blows them away.
