Today’s early game belongs to AA Biloxi, with 21-year old RHP Bishop Letson looking to shake off recent difficulties (5.2 IP, 11 R (9 ER), 6 Ks) and lead the team to a 2-0 home series lead over Rocket City. 1B Blake Burke has a 1.000 OPS (77 PAs) and a 16-game on-base streak. New signee Mark Coley II starts in centerfield.

I can't decide if I think Dylan O'Rae is going to have 3 hits today or just 2...

Well he has his second hit and it is just the 3rd inning. Maybe I should have contemplated between 3 and 4.

3 more steals to boot as well. What is going on with this kid?!

Dang, he is going to be making a case for going from a non top 30 prospect to a league wide top 100 prospect in like a month. He is even showing some power which I wouldnt have though possible before his injury.

Who gave him permission to rake? Game must've really slowed down for him. 16 games in and it's feeling less and less like a hot streak...

Yeah, this start to the year for O'Rae has been insane. I've got to admit that I had kind of written him off completely from any sort of prospect status coming into this season. Not sure if it's his diminutive size or the injury issues as of late, but I figured he was just going to be one of those higher round picks that never really materialized into much. Now.....I'm definitely having second thoughts with him, which is pretty exciting!

Do we know how his defense plays at 2B? Is he an above-average defender there? Obviously, because of his size - he's going to be very limited in terms of where he can probably play defensively, so am hoping that he projects well at second.

O'Rae has stolen 5 bases today. He probably would have tried for 6 but the pitcher did his catcher a solid and threw a wild pitch instead

It is a Biloxi club record, actually.

Chaos in Biloxi. The good kind.

Down to their final strike, down 2 runs with nobody on base, O’Rae singled to start a 9th inning rally. Made walked and Burke doubled ‘em both home.

Then 2 runs scored in the 10th on a ball which didn’t leave the infield (well, until the pitcher sent it out there).

Admittedly he became sort of an afterthought to me, too. I think the small stature & having to re-establish himself after the health issues tell a tale about the kid---he just seems to be one of these types that refuses to be derailed, refuses to be deterred. And it doesn't hurt to have talent, too😜. At the plate & on the bases, his 'feel' for the game is pretty astounding.

I've done this before, and it's very rudimentary in this analytics-based world but I've found it fun: I'll look at a prospects' total numbers in pro ball after he's reached what amounts to more-or-less a full MLB season in games played/PAs. Luis Pena is now there. He's OPSing .857 with a .381 OBP. A total of 180 base hits including 35 doubles, 13 triples & 11 HRs. 107 RBI. Oh, and he's stolen 89 bases.

Jesus Made is given much more prospect love & rightfully so. And I realize the #s include a healthy dose of rookie ball. But save for a blip when getting a taste of high-A last year Pena has been consistently remarkable. It looks like it'll be a challenge to get him a place at the table AFA promotion is concerned but at his age it isn't a catastrophe if he stays at Wisconsin for the foreseeable future.

That 1-6 is no joke. Not an organizational filler in the group, either.
