With the Giannis sweepstakes starting I thought this could be a good thread.

Here is my scenerio for now

1) Giannis to Boston for Jaylen Brown, Hugo Gonzalez and 2 1st (this year and next)

Celtics get Giannis, we can move Brown for more pieces and get a couple late 1st and Gonzalez a late 1st last year.

2) Brown to Miami for Tyler Herro, Ka'el Ware, Wiggins and #13

I think this is what the Heat offered for Giannis minus a 1st (maybe Rozier instead of Wiggins). Brown and Bam would be a great tandem in Miami.

3) Herro and Turner for Jimmy Butler, Podziemski, and 2 future 1st.

The Warriors get a 2 guard to help Steph and a big to help Draymond. They get younger and help in the 2 spots they need. Priming themselves 1 more chance while they have Steph.

4)Wiggins to for Duncan Robinson, Caris Lavert and #21

Detriot gets rid of 2 bad contracts and gets a solid vet who can help Cade and Duren for a 1st.

1) Rollins 2) Pod 3) Jimmy 4) Ware 5) Bobby  Bench= Gonzalez, Robinson Levert, Green, #10, #13, #21, #27. Maybe money to sign a free agent like KPJ or Dieng

My picks 10= Burries 13=Mara 21=Graves 27=Veesaar

I didn't send Jimmy anywhere because we need a vet to keep this team competitive. If there isn't a good in season trade, after the year he would be a free agent helping our cap situation. It could be possible to trade Robinson, Lavert, or Green to shooting needy team and get an expiring big like Robinson for Vanderbilt to the Lakers.

In all 6 1st, Ware, Pod, Gonzalez, Jimmy for Giannis, Turner, and taking back other 2 bad contracts.

With Giannis having one year left only he can, if he wants to, control where he goes and limit the return. If he says I will only sign an extension with the Knicks, then the Knicks can lowball the bucks. Now if Giannis says that he will go anywhere and sign an extension as long as he thinks that can win a championship, then its on and we can discuss trade ideas.

Butler would refuse to play in Milwaukee.  You would have to trade Butler or release him so I think that trade is dead in the water unless you can get a third team involved to take on Butler and that probably eats one or both of the picks.

I am interested in picks, young players  with star potential and expiring contracts. So Butler isn't something I would want back even if he would play here (but he won't).

Yeah it'd be just like the current regime to want "veteran, playoff-ready talent" in return.

I'd still take Jaylen Brown. I think you could turn around and get a lot for him... but I don't see Boston making that trade.

I'm also fine with veterans as long as you're getting back picks+ young players. Most deals will include bad contracts just due to his deal... but Giannis is going to be 32, he played 36 games and he's got 1 year left on his deal.

I don't think trading Giannis is going to bring back a particularly big return. I'm seeing the Thunder trade for PG13 on Reddit or other places. These elaborate trades where we get back a guy like SGA and a boatload of future picks from OKC and SA.

I don't like the way things have ended... based on what Portis and others have said, it's mostly an issue with Doc and Giannis(and Doc and the rest of the team) but I just wish this would have ended on better terms.

Still, he got us a Championship and I'm good with this era. Obviously... I wish we'd have won more, but still, getting to see a title was pretty damn cool.

Last year Desmond Bane got 4 1st, a swap, and a couple filler salaries. I would think we should get a much better return than that. I am pretty sure the Heat offered Ware, Herro, a salary matcher (Rozier) and 2 picks (all they had) at the draft they will have 3. In turn, I would almost guarentee the Lakers offers Reaves and all there picks they can trade. Those offers for me are the low point of what we should get, I doubt the Spurs or OKC get involved but there should be interest from just about every other them that was in the playoffs. 1 team should get a little desperate and give us a boatload of picks and some young talent.

Ok. And that's... absolutely nowhere near what the Thunder got for PG13... which was what I said, and I don't think it's nearly as good of a package as the Jaylen Brown trade.

The Lakers can offer the 25th pick this year(not particularly valuable), and then 2 picks in '31 and '33 and Reaves... who is not a young blue chip player.

That's not near the OKC trade... which is what I was going off of and I don't think it's as valuable as the Jaylen Brown trade that I don't think the Celtics are biting on.

And maybe every other team that was in the playoffs will have interest. And if Giannis says "I want to go to NYK?" Then ALL those teams are hoping he'll change his mind in a year and sign an extension. So I think those teams will lose interest after that point.

I don't know what is going to happen or how it is going to happen. BUT, with John Horts and Milty steering a vessel sponsored by a heavily involved Jimmy Haslam, I don't know what could go wrong. We got this!

Desmond Bane was traded with 4 years of control, Giannis has one and can dictate his destination by simply refusing to sign an extension with anyone but his preferred team. If Giannis wants to do Milwaukee a solid and does want to move on, he should let this become a true bidding war. Then again, whats his motivation for that? By doing so, it means less assets are owned by his new club.
