Right-hander Michael King has made three career starts against Milwaukee. The Brewers have won all three games despite King being quite effective in two of the three starts. King allowed just one hit over 6 IP against the Cardinals in his previous start.

Jacob Misiorowski makes his first career start against San Diego. Miguel Andujar is the only Padre to have previously faced Miz and is 2-2 against him, two singles.

Just a random stat that semi shocked me:

The Brewers have 3 guys (I'm not including Vaughn and his 6 at bats so far) who have an OPS above .700 against LHP pitching this year. That's it.

2 of those guys are Garrett Mitchell and Blake Perkins.

Vaughn backs helps. Chourio back helps. Contreras will get there I'm sure. So we will be ok as long as we stay healthy but gracious..

I like winning game 1 of a series and then having Miz start game 2. And Harrison for game 3

For myself, it feels like lately the Brewers are always starting a guy that could go out and replicate what Woody, Freddy, or Priester would otherwise offer at this point in the season, both in terms of IPs and level-of-play. It's very satisfying.

It's always a pleasant "surprise" when Miz starts, because I'm never looking forlornly for the top-of-the-rotation to come back around. I'm excited to watch all of them pitch. The rotation is slowly morphing into the dominant rotation Arnold and Co. hoped for when acquiring these guys. They have to keep progressing, of course.

I'll be curious what kind of juice Miz brings tonight on a Tuesday home game versus the pedestrian Padres.

That's probably the reason. But I'd say when Miz starts is probably the ideal time to start Bauers in LF since so few balls get put in play and RHH will struggle to hit to left.     DAy game tomorrow though, so you know Yeli was gonna sit tonight or tomorrow either way.

Does Priester look anywhere close to being ready?

He didn't during his first rehab assignment. We will have to see how he looks this week in Appleton

I was wondering if Contreras would maybe sit out tonite. He took a couple foul tips that they said hit off his glove right in the area of the finger that's been a little bit of an issue, and his last AB looked pretty ugly. Good sign that he's playing as long as it isn't a case of him talking Murphy into it.

Quality matchup on paper. King has been very solid.

Yeah, that scared me a bit.  Two off that area of his glove in the same inning, then he loses grip on the bat in the following AB.  Really hope he doesn't reinjure that finger!

Honestly thought maybe they should use him as a DH after his reaction to those foul tips.

Confession time:  I was briefly tempted by the Milwaukee Brewers Lord of the Rings Night gear that popped in my feed online until I took a breath and realized there is no Lod of the Rings Night, all of it is unlicensed and If I gave them money for a hoodie it would be like setting cash on fire. 😆

I can’t say that I have reached that level of confidence in Patrick,, Sproat, or Henderson. Harrison is closer but I’m not sure he’s quite there yet either.

The potential might be there, but not quite enough track record yet.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That's probably fair but you need opportunity to build a track record.  Considering the reset of the rotation they chose (and with Priester and Woody going down not all of it was a choice) things are going pretty well.
