Terrible lineup. So we will drop a dozen on the Rockies today 😂.

We need to cycle out Rengifo and Perkins and that’ll really add depth to this bench.

This was supposed to be in blue but yea . I’ll eat crow every day if this is all it takes

I am self-aware enough to know that I don't have a clue how to manage a major league baseball team.  Discussion-wise, I am much more interested in the big picture than the micro in-game decisions - I trust Murphy does know what he's doing, and each decision is an educated guess anyways.

My take from this game…….if you allow Perk to reach on a bunt single when he’s trying to sacrifice and walk Joey with the bases loaded…….it doesn’t bode well for your team.

Do the Brewers have too much offense?

When the bottom of the order holds up their end, which isn't very much, they just might.

What about the GM who’s suppose to provide quality players for Murphy to manage. Arnold needs to do his part and needs to take some of responsibility, too.

Arnold is doing a great job.  They had the best record last year.  This year they are about to get to 40 wins fastest in team history.  I have complaints about a couple roster spots. Woodford (fixed, or at least attempted to fix) and Perkins in particular,  But overall the staff has done an incredible job.  I cant believe there are Brewer fans that think Murphy or Arnold are problems. If that was supposed to be in blue font and it went over my head I apologize for being an idiot.  Otherwise, I dont get it.

Looks like the Brewers offense just needed to get out of May

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Our outfielders are really Pete Crow-Armstronging into the wall instead of you know going over the wall with their gloves.

Getting Vaughn and Chourio back was massive.

What they are doing will win a lot of regular season games.

That's really all you can realistically ask with the current rules. Get in, and get something to go your way when you're there - the odds will never be in our favor.

Last year I had no expectations for the NLCS. Won a playoff series finally, beat the Cubs, felt really good.

Really feel like it’s okay to start moving forward with the mindset that we should start competing for a World Series. It doesn’t mean that the entire season is a failure if it doesn’t happen but we have been around the block enough times where it should be the big goal.

Who is saying Murphy and Arnold are problems?  There is a difference between disagreeing with an incremental decision each of them might make like (playing, keeping on the 26 certain players), but some people act like any constructive criticism is a demand someone be fired.

objectively we can all agree that Rengifo & Perkins being on the roster have cost us games, and Frelick and Ortiz have both struggled.

similarity, we can all agree that injuries have forced Sproat, Gasser, Crow, and now Drohan into the rotation with some success but significant struggles as well.

part of the fun of being a fan is being optimistic about how we can get better (especially in our case) without severely mortgaging the future.

No… which is why is we really want to win at the NLCS and or WS level, we’re going to have to take some calculated risks.

They were in the final 4 last year.  Arnold had to trade his ace 2 of the last 3 offseasons due to payroll.  And they lost to a team that had no payroll restrictions.  Im sure if he was budgeted an extra 280 million per year (the differnce between them and the Dodgers) he could have figured out a way to sign Ohtani.

Criticism is fine.  The roster isnt perfect, nor is the GM.  But they are pretty great.  So when someone says Arnold needs to find quality players and its time for him to take responsibility, I think thats a little over the top.  If that wasn't the intent of that post, I apologize.  Sometimes, on a message board or even text, it's difficult to gauge intent.  If that's what happened, then that's my fault.  The criticisms of Murphy, as in not being the guy for the playoffs, I dont agree with.  I dont think they lost last year because of his decisions.

...and Snell, and Yamamoto, and Betts, and Freeman, and Tucker, and even Pages, Will Smith, and T. Hernandez. "Calculated risks" are unlikely to really change the odds to the Brewers favor against that kind of spending, and could potentially severely handicap the team's future. They shouldn't stand pat, but realistically, they're fighting an uphill battle no matter what.

I think there is something to be said about a roster built for the regular season but you gotta get to the playoffs to win a title and winning the division is a pretty nice feather in your cap (along with a playoff series win). I do think they'll have the horses on both sides of the ball to get to a WS (or two) in the next 3 - 5 years.

Our run differential is improving today!

Top Five MLB Run Differentials

01. Dodgers +141
02. Braves +116
03. Brewers +105
04. Yankees +86

05. Pirates +30

How bad has the Pirates defense (-14 FRV | 28th) and performance with runners on (69% strand rate | 25th) been so far this year? BaseRuns thinks they should be giving up 4.22 runs per game (12th) but they have actually given up 4.62 runs per game (20th).

They have a 3.77 FIP (7th), 3.82 xERA (8th) and 3.84 SIERA (10th) but a 4.09 ERA (15th) plus those 0.53 unearned runs per game dropping them down another five spots on the overall RA/G allowed leaderboard.
