Looking forward to today's matchup.  I'm really high on Henderson.  I hope we don't push him any further than 6 innings (regardless of his pitch count), but should be fun to watch the "would be" swap that the Tigers were hoping for.

While I've decided its less enjoyable to participate in the IGT during the game, will be here post-game to see how everyone feels heading home for Seattle and Atlanta.

Picking up another game on LA would be great today, and maybe we'll get lucky any pick one up on ChC and the Braves.

I was going to make a joke about Ortiz being in the lineup (or lack of) on a day off, but I don't know that we would even have enough healthy outfielders not to have him out there.

GO BREWERS!

Same goal today as when the series started Thursday, win 3 of 4 to win this series and the season series. 3 game swing here, be up by 1 game over the Dodgers or up by 4 after this game.

Henderson seems to know he was the guy Detroit wanted and Milwaukee wouldn't move in that deal. Hopefully he isn't adding any pressure to himself to prove anything extra today.

Regular season games are never as big as they feel, but this one feels pretty big. Season series on the Dodgers would be nice, for sure. So would ending this stretch 4 up on the Cubs.

I think, at this point in the year, the difference between a 3-game lead and a 5-game one is massive. The former isn't the end of the world, but the latter would feel great given the schedule stretch we just went through and the way the Cubs have been playing.

Even a loss today ends a tough stretch 9-8. Part of winning at the margins is grabbing wins even during bad runs of play, and the Brewers are good at that. Let's hope they get back to true, rolling form after hanging in there out west.

I wasn't as confident with his being able to make the big-league jump as other pitchers (2-pitches), but he's essentially matched/exceeded his minor league numbers, which were consistently really, really good. Now that he's throwing a more complete starter's arsenal, and continuing to pepper the zone... I mean it's only been 16 big-league starts, but maybe this is just who he is.

In interviews he just oozes ease and self-belief. It makes me wonder if he's just gunna be really really good for a long time.

Caleb Durbin 2 grand slams in August. They call him "The Durbinator" in Boston.  Also batting .311 this month.

First Grand Slam: Hit on August 4, 2026, against the Chicago White Sox pitcher Davis Martin.

Second Grand Slam: Hit on August 13, 2026, against the Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Chase Lee.

We got Ortiz.   I’d rather have Drohan, Harrison

The bold is oh so true, and the run prevention has an awful lot to do with that. For all the lamenting about not hitting in SD, the 3rd game is a win if not for 3 walks & the botched play on a routine bouncer in the 8th. Everyone wants to see the hitting pick up, but the other stuff being a constant is the backbone.

It's kind of the essense of baseball, really. Fail 7/10 times and all that. Winning teams, like in every sport, hustle, endure, they are tough. They pick themselves up. They win at the margins. I get all the reasons why Murph can be annoying, but I happen to believe in that competitive, hardnosed, "football" mentality, and believe that without it, this team would merely be decent, instead of really good.

Someone posted a few days ago that, essentially, Murphy is what this particular team needs despite his in game decisions.  I think I agree with that.  I am probably never going to be a big fan of how Murphy manages games but the team could do worse.  Winning at the margins should probably be the motto for this era of Brewers baseball.

Henderson keeping the ball in the ball park is going to be key today. Like Misiorowski before yesterday, he’s had a bit of a HR ball issue lately with 7 HR allowed in his last 5 starts. Misiorowski cleaned it up and didn’t allow a HR. Now let’s see the same from Henderson.

I don’t think people said enough about the plays made by Chourio and Vaughn/sanchez yesterday.     Especially Chourio.    That inning could have gone sideways

I think it was kind of a win-win for both sides but it could have been better had we not thrown in the extra pieces.

cubs-cards 3rd inning. Walker getting forced into one of those terrible in game interviews.  I hate that I like him. he's handling it well and seems like a good dude.  just stupid question after stupid question. jets flying overhead. swanson just got hurt. cubs just homered........

they also just told him how many outs there are. he knew, but still....lol

Does anybody ask for this.    There isn’t one person that’s ever said that they like these in game interviews.    In any sport.
