I just found out today that the Schuckers have lost 12 straight games and have won 1 game in August.

I just kind of assumed they were very good.

They're kind of like the AA version of the Nationals.

Also already wrapped up a playoff spot winning the 1st Half Championship.

DSL Brewers Blue narrowly missed the playoffs at seven games over. Simply put, it was a tough year for many a good DSL squad as teams all the way up to 11 Games over 0.500 (DSL Arizona Red in the brutal DSL South division) missed out based on tiebreaker crireria.

Hard to believe with the lineup they are trotting out there every day...  Shocking actually.

Pitching for the most part has been, how shall I say, very challenged (promotions and injury have also taken their toll on the staff to be sure) and when the pitching happens to be palatable the offense tends to be non-existent. But, as is, the pitching staff is mostly filled with former T-Rat B-arms for the most part after the Letsons and Deberry's of their world who have also been highly erratic themselves in 2026. Many many disappointing seasons on that staff.

SS Brady Ebel gets his first High-A start in the field, as Wisconsin aim to even this week’s home series against Lake County. RHP Josh Knoth has been stacking solid outings (16.2 IP, 5 R, 18 Ks over last 3 games).

So tie game 2-2, Knoth with 5 solid innings.

Bottom of 7 and Strosnider hits his first profession HR to deep right center.

Then a Bitonti bomb. So he has a milestone #20 on the season.

So there's that. All good

Ebel has been giving off alot of Cooper Pratt vibes recently. Things like walking as much as k's and starting the season slow and being really good for most of the season, extra young for his draft class but promoted to high A in 1st season. Maybe his defense isn't quite to that level but he is a very similar athlete at least.

Big pro HR for Strosnider, but he shows he is not ready for MLB CF yet as he misplays a fly out to center, Sawyer moves in then tries to move back it goes right over his glove and it is a lead off 2B for Lake County.

But Bjorn Johnson then gets squeezed and gives up a walk.

Strosnide with a double to help get a run back.

Meneses closes the door - 2K and a fly out. 16 IP to earn the save. T-Rats 5-3.

Interesting slate of starters tonight - Broughton coming back from his TJ in 2024 and half of the outings as start the other half as reliever/piggyback.  And Niksch in Biloxi, good luck young man.

Eric Bitonti’s homer was off the bat at 115

He never has a cheap one.  He has the best pure power in the organization, and I will say IF he can fix those holes in the zone and lay off some of those pitches down/away, he can be a 50 HR guy in the bigs.  A lot of ifs, That power potential and ability is not in question it has been the contact rate, but in zone and out of of zone.

It would be interesting to see if he could be more selective and thrive in an ABS level, since I do think his huge zone is not consistently called in the lower minors, so I don't know if that is why he chases more, or if it is a pitch recognition.  But man if he puts it together he is an absolute steal of a draft pick.  Him and Pratt would make the 2023 draft a success.

I’m told Strosnider’s dad caught his home run ball - so that’s pretty cool

You have been told correctly! Amazing!

I mean, sure? That draft is already a pretty huge success. Having your everyday young MLB SS in the fold is obviously a huge win on a multi-year deal in Pratt.

Heck, 20th Rdr RHP Justin Chambers was traded for an impact half season of LHP Bryan Hudson at the MLB level and Hudson has rediscovered niche staying power with the White Sox. Adamczewski is an absolute Hoss - 15th Rd and is absolutely trending as a legit MLB corner outfield bat and defender.  Heck 10th Rdr RHP Morris Austin (2024 Release) is having a solid season for the Sox's Double-A Birmingham affiliate. I personally don't look at Bitonti's ultimate success as a make or break for the class at large by any measure. I do think he is perennially underrated and I do think his 'holes' in his game are remediable as he ages knowing he is a stout student of the game and he will continue to mature. I continue to absolutely devoutly love his swing and his overall athletic make up. I think the true depth of the class will be dictated by the story arcs of Josh Knoth, Bishop Letson, Mike Boeve, and Tate Kuehner with the sprinkled in 'What If' upsides of Ryan Birchard and Jason Woodward (as he gets further removed from those TJ surgeries).

I just think the class as a stand alone brought an absurd amount of talent into the system.

Absolutely — just an absurdly deep class of talent. Lots of future big-league players from the names you mentioned and then there’s Manfredi who was just traded to Colorado who could make his BL debut before the end of the year.

Just an incredible draft-class.

LHP Joey Broughton is coming off 2 solid outings (9 IP, 2 R; 8 Ks) and leads Wilson as they strive to even their series at Salem. 1B Carsten Sabathia is making mincemeat of Low-A pitching: 11-for-24 with 4 extra-base hits and 7 RBIs in 6 games.

Thank You! I meant to include Manfredi who was a key Deadline piece and has been called up to the Show already by the Rockies. Incredible stuff.

After a 1-run loss at Norfolk yesterday, LHP Thomas Pannone (4.09 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 7.1 K/9 in 77 IP) starts Game 2 of the series. RF Sal Frelick and 1B Blake Burke are both playing their 8th game for Nashville, with Frelick looking to be activated by the Brewers and Burke seeking his first AAA extra-base hit.

22-year old RHP Peyton Niksch of Kankakee Community College makes his 2nd professional start (3.2 IP, 2 R. 1 K last week) for AA Biloxi, who need to break their 12-game losing streak. C Darrien Miller has a 20-game on-base streak.
