No matter what happens blame tge offense in this one.

When you're always looking for something to blame, you somehow end up blaming an offense that scored 7 runs with a .335 xBA and hard hits galore......Against a solid starting pitcher and pitching staff.

Mitchell’s HR was very welcome.

A goofy series but a series win

Re: Bobby Gas and his erratic inconsistency. RHP Coleman Crow pitches on the exact same schedule. Is it by design? Perhaps.

I like Crow, but nah. Really bad day for Gasser, but atypical of how he's pitched this year re command. If this becomes chronic, sure but I don't think there's evidence of that.

Well under 1 BB per 3 innings coming into today.

With some off days finally coming maybe they'd go away from the 6 man in order to get another bp arm.  Gasser would be the one down imo. Still can get some extra days off using the off days. and maybe if he's not down long enough for the next needed start then someone like Crow comes back up then right down after his start.  Could be a way to have an extra BP arm the next two weeks before september

Despite what Gasser did today, if they go to a 5-man I'd like to see Drohan in the pen simply because both he & Gasser have done some good things as starters but Drohan has relieved this year & seems pretty comfy with it. Once Romero makes it back & you combine him with Ashby from the left side, then maybe I'd lean Drohan starting over Gasser. Let's see what Gasser does from here on out. The command today was unusually bad.

Mitchell had multiple good ABs for the first time in a while on Tuesday. Hope he can go today.

Great call early on today with how things played out!

Well, his last three starts would say he isn't pitching well enough to maintain his spot. My opinion. 3 GS: 14 2/3 IP, 19 H, 7 BB, 14 K, 10 ER. That is a very pedestrian stretch IMHO. And, Crow has pitched very very well. That's almost a 2.00 WHIP over 3 starts. Not going to keep you in the rotation.

Edit to Add: I'd like to see Crow get an opportunity with a backstop who understands his strength is his movement profile and off-speed arsenal. Unlike, Contreras who pounded his four-seamer in his last outing pre-IL. It was an absurdly poorly called game by William.

I'd agree with the notion that i'd prefer Drohan in the pen over gasser, that would be another route to take. But it doesn't get a fresh arm tomorrow either.   So the choice of what you said, or Drohan stay starter with whoever is next up as a reliver from AAA (and then Uribe in like 5 days).   And then the '6th' man if needed being an up down guy like Crow (then Gasser the next time its needed).

Def see both sides and if its just choosing who to be a pen guy, for sure agree on Drohan over gasser.  But I think I'd choose the musical chairs route I said for the next 11 days. And I'd for sure expect Gasser to start several more games at some point due to schedule need, but also hopefully further resting of starters as they near clinching
