It depends what you're targeting.  Bunting first scores the runner on second 46% of the time vs 33% if you swing away, but to score 2+ runs you're better off swinging away, 14% vs 10%.

Me, I'm usually happy with the one run then pray for the bullpen.

It also depends on whether the batter is any good at bunting.

Some pretty lousy managing by Pancakes tonight.

take out Vaughn, now taking out Pratt.  Sal did get that run in so I’ll give him a pass on the Frelick for Lara.

i don’t want Hamilton on the postseason roster if he’s going to be anything other than a PR.  Frelick is a hard no for me on TJ roster as well.   Noodle arm and pretty lousy at the plate.

They are currently last in the AL East … it will take a miracle for them to get the final playoff spot … I believe they are below average

Watching them tonight you'd swear they were a 90 win team. Till you looked at the batting averages. Still don't see how that team hasn't won more games than they have.

Chad Patrick with the save. Well done by the bullpen after a short start, even with Magill’s blown save.

Trevor hadn’t blown a save in months…hopefully he won’t for another long stretch now

Can we please sign Patrick to a multi year deal this offseason.

Think they can just let him run through the arbitration seasons. Not a free agent until after the 2031 season (assuming current CBA rules).

They're damn near the statistical definition of average. This is a good reminder the team with the best record in baseball will lose 38% of their games this year.

62%, a solid F.

Great to get the win, but I think we’ve found out in the last 24+ hours that we can trust neither Harrison nor May in the playoffs and that is rough news.
