I’m probably alone on this, but I want Pratt on the bench. 10 games, 4 errors, botched double play almost costing a game (not an error on paper), and numerous bad throws Bauers has bailed him on. The defense is just terrible and he doesn’t have a great 1B to save him. Pratt versus Tropicana Field? It feels like a disaster brewing. I know the offense is better, but jeez, the defense is just bad man.

That being said, I know he will be in the lineup, so I hope he proves me wrong both with the bat and the glove.

Joey Ortiz has a career .225 OPS in the playoffs. I’m riding Pratt.

Arranda OUT of the lineup tonight.

That's a gutsy move by Cash the way he's hitting this series. He does have the typical lefty splits against lefties, but they're not that horrible.

For comparison, he started every game this postseason, including against Fried and Messick.

If the Crew can pull this one off tonight, I will likely relax the whole rest of the series.

I'll pull for a Joey O appearance.  *Everyone* has contributed and he'll likely put one over the wall at some point.  I'm a believer.

If this happens and we're allowed to complain about a World Series title run, for me it'll be that every clinch game was on the road.

Wow.  He has been a menace in the first 2 games.  Interesting development

FWIW-  the Rays fans down here have been very gracious.   Said “we want to win, but are ok with you guys are winning it this year because nobody deserves it more”.

Rays are a classy fan base and organization.  I’ll be a fan in 2027

Sounds like a complaint for next year's title run. I need this one ASAP.

That's right Cash, just keep being all cutesy and try and overthink everything.  It's working out so well for you so far...

So Murph goes all season without the same lineup 3 days in a row and then pulls it out for the WS……..😎

ps. It certainly makes it easier when you win and the other team runs 3 righties in a row out there.

Aranda out is the same platoon debate we've been having this whole postseason. You're getting 2 ABs of a favorable Vilade-Gasser matchup but then the third time through we will bring in a righty and they will PH Aranda.

That sets up the Aranda-Ashby matchup late which we were ready for in G2.

The strategy matches Cash's "see the A relievers over and over" gameplan, as it tips the scale in favor of Ashby seeing an appearance again tonight and facing the same part of the Rays lineup.

I was thinking that, too. "Man, I hope this series doesn't go back to Milwaukee....but man, that would be fun to possibly win it at home."

Let's just win it in Tampa, huh?

Meanwhile, same lineup as first two games from Murph. Pratt remains at SS.

Pratt's bat swings the decision toward him. I'm sure he's been getting lots of encouragement from the team to keep his head up.

With Ashby pitching so much in gm 1 and 2 do we slow done his usage? I am not saying we shouldn't use him but do we limit him to like 20 pitches a game for the 3 games in Tampa? Not only to save his arm and effectiveness but to also make it so he isn't facing the same guys every game? Obviously he is going to pitch in the biggest situations with how good he has been, but do we need to limit him at all for effectiveness for game 6/7 or do we just go full boar and lean on him game 3-5 as much as possible?

My take is that he should be fully available today after the travel day. That being said, I thought it was interesting that Megill has only pitched 3 outs. I think if you need someone to get 6 outs tonight that falls to Megill instead of Ashby.

I feel a little bad for Rays fans. Their crowds looked great in the championship series and their fanbase has some momentum with the new ownership and new stadium. This isn't going to help their reputation but people just need to chalk it up as Wisconsin fans going crazy for this team.

That's exactly why Cash went with Vilade in the starting lineup. I would have done the same.

Oh just blame it on the traffic or stadium location per usual.
