WE DID IT!

I came back here for the second time in a decade because I can't think of my Brewer fandom without thinking of the countless hours I spent on Brewerfan.net in the mid-aughts. We argued over whether Wayne Franklin or Matt Kinney was a better pitcher. We watched as prospect after prospect went the path of JM Gold, Nick Neugebauer, and David Krynzel. We discussed cheese sandwiches. We prematurely celebrated when some waiver claim or Melvin nugget showed two weeks of promise. Then I swore off watching games in 2013 when they brought back Yuniesky Betancourt to be their 1B and went from a regular poster to an infrequent lurker.

We were always outsiders who maybe, perhaps, possibly, someday might be a contender. Then we finally got back into the playoffs, but we were always bounced by someone who spends billions, or someone who got hot at just the right time while we made missteps.

I didn't know that I'd ever see this day, and I still have trouble believing it's real. Thanks to everyone who kept me engaged in dreaming when we were one of the sorriest teams in pro sports.

WELCOME BACK!!!

The answer was Jamey Wright, if I recall correctly.

Kind of fun seeing some old names showing up here to pay their respects!

Thank GOD we didn't do it!  Thank almighty Jesus we didn't give into their wishes!

We won it all anyway, and that's the name of that tune!

To be fair we definitely would have still won it if we did, lol.

But Henderson will be a Brewer next season, Skubal would not be.

And then there would be this weird unfounded narrative in the national media that we won the World Series because we went out and got Skubal.

It's weird that the overall outcome in terms of wins and losses probably would not have changed.

Welcome back!!!

One of my favorite parts of this run has been seeing some of the "legends" from that era hanging around the team. My favorite player from the aughts, Bill Hall, was just hanging around the concourse at the Trop wearing a #2 jersey and taking pics with fans. It brings me so much satisfaction to know that the old timers still feel a part of this community.

Can Bill Hall pitch???? We'll never know.

Pound for pound, this is the best organization in pro sports right now. The organization, this iteration of the team, the fanbase that traveled by the tens of thousands to Florida, deserve this so much, more than anybody. I just cannot believe this is real.

This is interesting

According to McCullough, Detroit wanted a top hitting prospect and a controllable young starting pitcher, but Milwaukee was unwilling to part with rookie left-hander Logan Henderson. Instead, the Brewers offered three position-player prospects: infielder Luis Peña, utility player Jett Williams and outfielder Josh Adamczewski. Peña was No. 27 on Keith Law’s January 2026 list of top 100 MLB prospects and Williams was No. 45.

Detroit accepted the offer that afternoon.

A big thank you to the Tigers' organization for turning that down, if true. Oooooh, giving up Pena & Adamczewski would've ticked me off.

Then again, if we had Skubal maybe we cruise through the post-season more smoothly. I mean, you can never get back those 2 losses...........

More subtle meaning behind Cooper's bats, they come from Cooperstown and now they're going back to Cooperstown.

I wonder what Ben Hendrickson's dad is up to?

If he still walks the Earthly Plane, he is probably kicking something today.

I keep waiting for Baseball Reference to update Wild Bill's page with the WS MVP badge. Not there yet.

This is crazy because of 2 these losses were sorta punt games - riding Colton Gordon til his arm fell off, and Kyle Harrison’s last chance at starting. The other 3 were all super competitive 4-3 losses.

Megill is the goat man……lol

I've seen Cubs fans, including Kaplan, saying that the Cubs live rent free in their heads because he said this just minutes after the game. The same fans that chant "Green Bay Sucks" at ball games that don't even involve the Packers, no matter what sport they are watching. Irony's a pretty ironic thing.
