It's embarrassing that the roof is closed.

Hasn't that happened before when we were on national television, the roof being closed when it shouldn't be?

Also, is it just me or does the ESPN center field camera seem really washed out? It seems like the image is so much better from any other camera. That red All-Star game ad really popped out of the screen last inning.

Wow, what a bomb by J.J. into the seats above the bullpen. I believe that's only the second home run Nieve has allowed so far since joining the Mets.

Schulman: "Jeff Francoeur is struggling some."

Yeah, you could say that. I could say the only reason he's still on that roster is because he's a hometown kid. He's an awful player.

You apparently like playing and watching baseball in rain showers.

It was sunny when it was closed and the rain lasted about five minutes. And I'd rather watch baseball in a rain shower than sit in a sauna, which is what Miller Park is when the roof is closed.

Yes. Very embarrassing to close the roof during rain showers.

And when I posted that, the sun was shining through the windows. Even Schulman was surprised the roof was closed.

Schulman probably hasn't heard about radar that shows what's moving in and probably doesn't know that it can be sunny and then it can change.

pretty embarrassing, if you ask me, that we only have 3 runs despite 11 hits thus far.

Seriously, I'm glad to see JJ starting to break out (I hope for more than just one game) and everybody is hitting the ball hard. And we didn't get shut down. Maybe they need to close the roof more often.

Ugh, why the hell do you send the pitcher there? The bases are still loaded for Prince, instead it's a double play and Prince leads off the next inning.

why, oh, why do you send Looper on that with Prince Fielder, who has smoked the ball twice thus far, due up next? Fischer has been right on the money all game with sending runners except that one. Dumb, just dumb.

I don't really think sending Looper was as bad as everyone says. I probably wouldn't have done it, but they needed to make a perfect throw to get him, and that's what they did. Church threw a rocket to the catcher and they just barely got him. If the ball one hops or is off line even a bit, the run scores. It's a decent gamble to take.
