Just for fun, let's have a thread about common things you have never done - that might surprise others, if you admitted it. (Do stay within the bounds of our forum etiquette, though.)

 

I'll start: I've never eaten Taco Bell food. This was easy during the first 20 years of my life because I did not have access to a TB. Then the first one I was near - Madison's State Street location - had a hepatitis scare early in its tenure, which didn't make me any more eager. Plus there was that Taco John's on Regent (so it's not like I never had "Mexican" fast food, just never the Bell).

By now, I consider it a small badge of pride, and want to see if I can live my whole life without "thinking beyond the bun."

I've never been able to "do" those 3D artwork things that you stare at. It just doesn't work for me due to the vision problems I have.

 

Same with 3D movies. They don't work for me. Never have, never will.

I've lived in Arizona for 16 years, and never been to California, even though it's an easy drive to get there.

+1 for never seeing a Star Wars movie. I'll add all of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies to that list, as well.

I saw Star Wars in a theater in 1977, at age 11, and that was enough for me. I was persuaded to see The Empire Strikes Back when it re-entered theaters (in the 90s?), but it really was one too many in the series for me.

 

I just can't sustain an interest in science fiction and fantasy. Star Wars, Star Trek, LOTR, Harry Potter, Hitchhiker's Guide, Dungeons and Dragons, it doesn't matter. Many of my friends, from high school to the present day, were/are into this stuff and I've tried to share their interest. It's like the episode of The Simpsons where Bart tries to read a news story in a newspaper, gets through half a sentence and groans loudly before turning to the comics.

 

I also have never used tobacco in any format, unless you count secondhand smoke, and that was involuntary.

I wish I could say I'd never had coffee, but someone messed up my hot chocolate order in a coffee shop once. That was unpleasant.

I've never been in a taxicab.

I've also never stayed up all night. Even in college, I could not physically do an all-nighter. (The ironic flip side is that I've struggled with insomnia my whole life, but that would derail the thread.)

I'm always amazed at people who've never broken a bone or gotten a cavity. I've never dyed my hair or had my eyebrows done.
