What's NOT bugging you? (2013 – 2019)

If you think about the next few years could be the peak period of WI overall sports. Rodgers still makes GB a contender every year, have to find a way to get 1 more before he's done. Bucks have their first real superstar since the 70s. Brewers should be about to go into a winning period for the next chunk of years (and yall just pointed out the Cubs might not be the monster we feared). WI football is still primed as consistent top 15 every year. WI basketball has best recruits coming in they've ever had and I'd say a legit FF and title shot in the next 5 years.

As of now I'd probably go with fall 2011 as the best spot I can remember. Bucks were trash. WI basketball was good but not great. But Packers were defending champs and on the 19ish game winning streak at the time. UW had Russell Wilson and looked primed to be national contenders. Brewers were up 1-0 in NLCS. But then of course the MSU hail mary happened to UW football and the David Freese happened to the Brewers. Hope the next few years trump that time, I remember talking about how there was a legit shot we'd have 3 champions at once for podunk WI

I miss watching baseball every night, but one good thing is not having to see McConaughey and his stupid contact lenses.

My student employee who is an ardent Cardinals fan got a job offer today and has given me his two week notice.

He's not a bad person, despite his MLB preference, but I'm okay with him moving on.

Here's a text I received last night from a former co-worker. (He's a big cards fan.) "Cards need to dump Holland. What a nightmare! Can't even demote him to the minors. Lost 3 games outright when his team was ahead and today dug a deeper hole as closer."

I mean, of course most if not all the cards fans are pretty ticked off. But to know somebody personally who is tossing and turning over their club blowing games...It's pretty swell.

He's gone now! :) And he's attending one game at MP this weekend, but it's not when we're going! #winning

After eight weeks on second shift, I left my job today. It's nice to be home to enjoy watching the first-place team on a weeknight for the first time since May.

Our third son was born last week Tuesday. Everyone is healthy and I’m again amazed by my wife, and what all women do, when giving birth. Feeling happy and proud. Oh and this Brewer team is sure fun to watch!

Ha! We got a lot of that! My wife actually said, after we beat the Cubs, “so Yeli It is!”

Our 9 month old puppy is named Bernie, does that count?

I just paid off my last student loan.

That's awesome!

The feeling of relief when I got mine paid off was incredible. I was fortunate enough to get some of mine paid off for working in a low income school, so that helped. I also paid of my credit card debt from college and that felt amazing too. Only debt I have is my house.

We paid off our house last year. Talk about an amazing feeling... Paying on something for 25 years, then all of a sudden, NOT paying, is an incredible feeling!

Jayme Closs was found alive. Crazy.

I’m absolutely overjoyed that Jayme Closs was found alive. I followed the case very closely and always believed that she was still alive. Hopefully Jayme is able to fully recover from this traumatic event. With all of the unconditional love and support that Jayme will get from her family and the Barron community, she will receive the best care needed to help her recover. The reunification of Jayme, her family, and her dog in Barron is going to be something special.

We've been increasing our monthly mortgage payment by $100 each year for the last 5 years and will do it one more time next year and then leave it at that. At that pace, based on the amortization schedule I set up, should be paid off sometime around June 2026. A little over 7 years from now. I can not wait for that day! I can not imagine not having a monthly rent or mortgage payment!

I also had a bit of help from teaching in a low-income school but not as much as I would have gotten had I remained a SpEd teacher. I didn't have a ton of student debt but it still feels great only having one debt right now (house) and I can put that student loan money towards a new car/paying down the house.

Wow, surprised I’m the last poster for the thread.

I’m happy to see Gomez have some great moments right away up with the Mets.

Despite his baseball flaws he was a lovable player. Tons of enthusiasm and potential. I always lauded his game changing potential.

Remembering back, the 2nd somersault wasn’t necessary but it was hilarious.

Edit: I intended to link to video of the double somersault play but apparently I overestimated my internetting skills.
