I'm sure it is somewhere in the 24 pages, but if they don't sign him, they get a draft pick next year that is one pick later than he was this year, right?

Plus they would have whatever pick they have from where they finish this year, right?

If so, I assume it is too early to say how deep a draft next year will be, right?

I assume you would rather spread out your picks, but there is also something to be said for having multiple guys coming up to the big league club at the same time while getting paid pre-arby salary. Not that you can assume two high schoolers drafted in the first round together, would end up on the same timeline.

@YouKnowAndThat

Brice Turang has agreed to terms with the #Brewers.

I have not seen what the bonus amount is yet, but it looks like the Brewers will indeed sign their #1 pick.

Turang just tweeted a pic of him putting pen to paper so it looks like it's official! Will be interesting to see what the $ are and if we can snag any more later round picks before the deadline.

From the photos it looks like the signing took place in Milwaukee. I assume Turang will do the whole batting practice and formal announcement tomorrow.

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers officially signed first-round Draft pick shortstop Brice Turang on Thursday night.

The two sides had until 4 p.m. CT Friday to come to terms on a contract.

Turang, an LSU commit and California native, will be trading the chance to play college baseball to join the Brewers' organization.

"This was a tough decision," Turang said in a tweet. "It was an honor to be a part of the 2018 Draft, and I appreciate the Brewers for taking their chance on me!"

Milwaukee used the 21st overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft to select Turang. He was the last unsigned top-10 pick for the Brewers.

Turang's pick value was $3,013,600, according to MLB.com, and the Brewers were able to give him as much as $3,566,195 without losing a future first-rounder. According to MLB.com's Jim Callis, "Turang entered last summer as a candidate to go No. 1 overall, but fell to No. 21 because of a so-so spring rather than unsignability."

So, so happy!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

$3,411,100 for Turang. @Brewers @MLBDraft

Doesn't leave a lot left over to sign anyone remaining. Maybe one flyer or two today, but I think they are pretty much done.
