Stop complaining about the fan. He saved you a run for now.

Exactly, the anti-Bartman result. Would likely be tied up if Braun had caught that ball.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Heck of a job by Jennings. Glad to see he's bounced back after the struggles. Would be pretty pathetic if the starter goes 6 and you blow a 4 run lead without Hader, Jeffries, or Knebel entering the game.

Dan Jennings with a Mota-esque performance!

In a one or two run game I'm guessing Jeffress is in. With a four run lead the hope was probably to surrender a couple and have him finish the game/8th. You have to make a choice and sometimes it doesn't go smoothly.

I figured Jennings may not be full go after pitching two innings last night. Santana isn't a good hitter, then you got a lefty, the key was getting the switch hitter.

I guess I'm the only one who thought putting in Barnes to begin with ws a mistake. Atlant's too good of a hitting team to trust a lead to your maybe 4th best reliever when your three best relievers are fresh and availaable to set you up for a sereis tying win at least.

Exactly. If you get that inning from Barnes, then maybe you tack on some more runs and don't need any of your big guys. or if you don't get anymore runs maybe it saves one of your main guys. Just didn't work today. impossible to be perfect like they were the first 6-7 weeks of the year

Nice work Jennings! Now got to tack on a couple. If the big three are not available now what?

As said before, Jeffress was available last night, no reason he’s not tonight.

I like Barnes just fine, but I think any RP (maybe excluding Hader) should have an extremely short leash if they put the first two runners on without recording an out.

On the other hand, we are in the middle of a long stretch without any days off and Counsell may be hoping that guys can go full innings.

Barnes HAS been good. So going to him wasn’t bad. I just think (even when soft hit or errors or walks etc) if you allow 3/4 guys in a row on, you have to pull the pin... especially a guy like Barnes who’s usually a. Unhittable or b. The lead is disappearing ... certain guys seem to let things snowball. He’s always been one of them. Usually can tell by the first batter. Jennings tho - one hell of an inning there with no room for error!

I'd bet $100 that either Jeffress or Hader is on for the 8th. Guessing Jeffress.

Why wouldn't they be available?

I hope they are Jeffress and Knebel should be. Not sure but Iam figuring Jeffress up next. Shame they couldn't close it without them. Four run lead should have been enough.
