well, if it wasn't already official before today it probably is now. Brewers don't have to worry about the diamondbacks going forward since they'll be 7 back in the loss column in about 30 minutes.

Additionally, Freeland left the game with an apparent calf injury. He would probably be their preferred starter if they play in the WC game.

Dbacks start a series on Monday vs. the Cubs (@ HOU this weekend). Hope they are still in the picture by then. They are falling fast.

Thank you Mr. Turner. Tie ball game!
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

I know Dbacks are competition for us, but we should be pulling for them to do well for the next week or so. We want them to feel like they still have a shot when they face the Cubs early next week.

Arizona is no longer competition for the Brewers. If they were to catch the Brewers, that would mean we would have done so poorly that it wouldn't even matter. Everyone else would catch us, too.

Or at least embrace the spoiler role by playing loose, with a nothing-left-lose attitude.

And the Cubs fail to score! Come on Nats!

Maddon using the same relievers again today.

Always and forever. Chavez, Chisek, Edwards rinse repeat

And now Strop and his crooked cap.

Didn’t you know that Strop is Spanish for “crooked cap”?

It would be, however my sanity requests a regular innings win.
Remember what Yoda said:

"Cubs lead to Cardinals. Cardinals lead to dislike. Dislike leads to hate. Hate leads to constipation."

Meh, I'll stay sane either way because I believe the cubs are on their way out of first. I'd love them to lose and while they are at it, might as well have it be as tiresome and demoralizing as possible. That will give their fans plenty to whine and cry about, and whatever makes cub fan unhappy makes me happy.
