I never got how anyone could hate Nyjer Morgan. We picked him up for basically nothing (traded Cutter Dykstra, who I believe never even made it to the MLB level), and he really energized the team that year. Cardinals fans hated him, so that was always a plus with me.

 

I'd love to see him back for a first pitch at some point.

IDK, I'd much rather get nostalgic with the Bill Halls, Prince's, Harts, Weeks, etc type guys if they're going to do stuff like that.

 

BILL HALL??? We're probably still paying him, so why not have him do something I guess. The point of bringing back T-Plush would be to get the crowd fired up. There isn't anyone that would be fired up about seeing Bill Hall back, unless it was mother's day.

 

I think Nyjer would be one of the most "electric" first pitch candidates you could come up with. If you want to give the crowd warm fuzzy feelings about the past, then Prince, Rickie, Yount, etc. Purely to fire up a crowd, you aren't beating T-Plush.

As long as it's not Shaun Marcum or Jeff Suppan throwing the first pitch, I'm good.

 

Why not let Auggie throw out the first pitch? And if he looks good, give him the first batter- nice match-up for him.

Paul Molitor's calendar should be pretty open? In all seriousness, I would love to see him back for the game, but not sure how that works when you've been managing lately.

Loved Nyjer. He was weird in a great way. Living down in Cardinal land, they HATED him precisely for that reason, but then, they treat baseball like church where no fun is allowed. He was fun as hell and he had the most impactful one-year wonder season in Brewers history.
