Two days in a row where the initial call goes against us. The Arcia play yesterday and this one. Both would have been safe if the initial call was safe

I don't think you can be so afraid of a double play. Better chance of a hit or fly ball than stealing home.

The intent wasn't to steal home. Anderson takes forever to throw the ball, but he caught Shaw running.

I agree, Shaw was just supposed to straight steal 2nd, and got picked off, so Perez decided to try to make something of it. IMHO

He was clearly safe. Ridiculous call.

But having someone as slow as Shaw steal second is arguably still being too afraid of a DP.

I thought he slid through the foot and his thumb wrapped around the base. MLB is the worst with inconclusive calls

At least they made Anderson throw some pitches that inning

Honestly I am fine if they keep Anderson in the third time through the order. He wasnt fooling nearly as many guys that last inning. We just ran into an out

Why not just lay your entire leg in front of the base on a pickoff play to 1st, if you can just block the runner from the base?

I was wondering the same thing. Dont know the rules

Perez was out. His hand hit Arenado's foot and never did get to the bag. Pretty obvious if you ask me.

I thought it was pretty clear that Perez got his fingers to the base before the tag.

I mean, I wanted him to be safe too but that was in no way a ridiculous call. Desmond threw late and Perez was “there” before the ball was but I didn’t see any part of his hand touch the bag before the tag. I did, however, see four fingers and a palm blocked by Arenado’s foot.

Gotta run chacin out for at least 1 more

Absolutly not. Top of the order coming up for the third time and a pitcher who has been laboring all game long.

But Chacin is still in. I don't like this at all.
