if gosewisch is added to the club's 40-man roster, he will have one minor league option remaining.

 

the brewers currently have two non-roster invitees for 2019 camp.

Someone has to back up Nottingham at AAA. Every catcher in the upper levels seems to get an NRI just to have bodies there, so that means nothing.

Obviously the Brewers were below average hitting from the catching position last year. But we weren't that bad, that I would call it a federal emergency if we run with Pina and Kratz/Nottingham next year. Especially if they give us the same defense and game calling as last year - which was above league average.

Might be protection in case they DFA Freitas to make room on the 40 man. Otherwise I dont see a lot of room in the upper minors for another C. Could just be a guy we put on the taxi squad.
