Cripes sakes. I don’t understand why we want to pitch our relievers five innings every night. Counsell is just so frustrating this year. Davies needed to go 6

There was no reason to take Davies out. It's September FFS

I think September means something very different to you than it does to CC. Because I think “it’s September” played a huge role in CC making the move.

Lefties OPS .787 vs Davies. Lefties OPS .616 and only slug .336 vs Claudio. SOmetimes when you play the percentages the results don't go your way. It happens.

Yeah, he went to the right guy but it’s not a 100% thing. It happens like you said.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Thought maybe Suter instead of Claudio there?

Pitchers spot was coming up.....if it works out like it's supposed to Claudio/Jackson get out of the inning and then they pinch hit for pitchers spot.....and bring in Suter fir 2 innings.

Just didn't work......

Lest we forget Jay Jackson just cleared waivers a couple months ago, just completely unwanted by any MLB team, and didn't suddenly transform into a great reliever overnight.

I would love to see the percentage of 2+ run innings this year vs last. And how they compare to the rest of the league.

Seems like they give up crooked numbers more than just single tallys.

That is were I think DJ shined. Seemed to have the right pitch sequence to get out of jams and limit big innings.

It wasn’t that high leverage though. It’s the fifth inning. Now we have to get four more innings out of god knows who

I would have rather have Claudio in the 7th against a lefty

We just don’t get zeroes out of the pen like last year. Why pitch them more than starters

Will it be the end of the season if we drop this game?

No. They are going to lose more than 1 game the rest of the way no matter how well they play. Every loss makes it harder but a loss here isn't some sort of deathknell.

Should the Brewers play these next two games as must-win, and pitch whoever is necessary, which could put them in a worse position against the Cardinals? The odd are that the Brewers will lose 1 or 2 of the next 4 games, so if these are considered easier is it worth potentially having guys unavailable this weekend?
