I've lost 30 pounds. Saw 200 today and have lost 6 inches on my waist.

Excellent! Do you need to change your bf.net name now? ;)

Ha! Kind of a double meaning I suppose. I went to UW-Stout, but I wasn't so stout when I attended! Well, maybe the last few years.

That's the truth. The first 20 went quick. Next 10 a challenge. Had to up the cardio and then I've done some intermittent fasting that I've seen people here mention. Both seem to work well together. Weekends are more challenging because I'm with my kids and wife all day typically.

Congrats on the weight loss. I found out I was diabetic in mid-March, have cut out a ton from my diet, and am down from 278 to 250 (I’m 6’8”).

Needed to shed some weight, but at this point I’m concerned mainly with my A1C. I know the two are linked, so hopefully the weight loss helps.

Just on medication right now, no insulin. Hoping to stay that way or get off meds entirely. Wake up call.

That's awesome news. Keep it up!

The FIL got diagnosed type 2 and changed diet and cut soda and ice cream completely. He is now off meds but will still keep an eye on his numbers if he does decide to have some pizza or whatever.

The used car market is approaching levels that don't even make logical sense. I have known multiple people now that have traded in a used vehicle for basically the same thing brand new and the DEALER paid them. The used car was worth more than the new one.

Going to trade in the wife's 2017 with 50k miles and bald tires for a new one. Two trim levels up, dozen+ more features, and brand new will cost a couple grand more than hers is worth.

After 15 months, finally landed something (albeit a temp to possible perm). Recruiter calls Wednesday...20 minute phone interview Friday...two hours later offer accepted. Plus, will pay better than any previous job. Only if job hunting was that easy.

Just checked kelly blue book and our car's value went up $2000 since last October.

Makes me wonder if leasing is a better deal long term than buying used right now (unless you're upgrading).

Hopper, sounds like we were in a similar place. Hit my goal weight this week. Took me a year and 3 months, but I went from 230 to 175. Haven't been at this weight since college, and that was almost 40 years ago. Waist from 38 to 32. Neighbor asked my daughter if I had been sick, so I think that means I'm doing something right?

Intermittent Fasting 16/8, running or Orangetheory six days a week, counting calories, and here's the most impactful: I haven't had sugar since January. Now, the tough part: maintenance. I got down to 195 last year, took a tumble and hurt myself running in October, and in what seemed like a flash, was back up to 213 in January. Am very not bugged about where I am now.

Summer has been tough for me! I'm still at 196ish, but I have been finding it harder to get out and about watching two kids every day and have found myself snacking more often, but I've done a pretty good job staying away from sugar and I havent been putting on weight. I had a goal of 180 by september, but I dont think I'll hit that unless I really buckle down.

I think the other part is I have felt so good that it doesnt make me feel like I need to keep losing weight. My weight is always kind of weird because I have a pretty athletic/thick lower half from my hockey days, so sometimes that can be deceiving. I can see my chin like again and I dont hurt after running, so those are two plusses. :)

Cubs just gutted their team, and the Brewers play at Wrigley 8/9-8/12.

BF.net outing at Wrigley?

I’m thinking about going. I’ve never been. Was hoping for a cheap ticket.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

If y’all go can you scream incorrect player names (Rizzo, Baez, Bryant, )?

I’d say Kimbrel too…but we know the closer won’t be seen too often anymore.

This would be really funny.

Played my first nine holes of golf in at least 15 years yesterday and it was was awesome. So much fun despite having heat exhaustion by the 5th hole and suffering my way through the rest. But lesson learned, when it's 95 degrees outside, maybe don't play that day. I have no distance yet, but somehow eight of my nine drives actually went straight.

For my kids' 14th birthdays, we would get them their "adult" bike (~$400-500 entry level bike shop bike) that they shouldn't outgrow anymore. I have a daughter that is completely blind and we have done biking with tag-alongs and similar things, but it normally worked REALLY bad. Her balance as she grew older was terrible and normally made it frustrating to counterbalance her while pulling her.

But we had the opportunity to try a tandem bike and to my surprise it worked really well. There are a few times I have to overcompensate, but since the bike doesn't have any pivot points, it is much easier to manage than the tag-along that pivoted on my bike seat. So for her 14th birthday, we bought a Schwinn Twinn and took it out. I'll probably tweak the bike a bit (upgrade the tires mainly), but overall a very nice and lower cost ($700) tandem bike. It needs some shifting adjustments, but otherwise worked well right out of the box from Amazon.

She loves to bike, but our old setup just caused frustration. Hopefully with this setup, we can get a regular riding rhythm now.

This morning I got up early to hunt birds on the tundra. Figured I’d stream the Badgers game replay later.

Fast forward to present, my belly is full of white front (speck) goose breast. A fresh fall bird that’s been eating tundra blueberries for a month and a half, grilled medium rare-rare. There are few better things.

I hear the Badgers game wasn’t too good but it was a great day.

I'm jealous... the rest of us had to watch that game without any grilled goose... :(
