Also, past the halfway point and the offseason champ megaspenders of SD and NYM are still firmly below .500.    I'm generally not one of those on here who rant or hate on this, but it's still good to see.   OTOH, for those who spend their time complaining how cheap MKE is and how we should be like them maybe it's not great to see though...

Statistically, I have no doubts that larger bankrolls give team a greater chance to win simply because you can "eat your mistakes" easier.  But it is nice to see that baseball is a team game and just throwing a bunch of high-priced players on a team doesn't guarantee winning.  Coaching and clubhouse vibes are still important.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

What's not bugging me is my new Blackstone 36 inch. My wife is happy she hasn't cooked the last 6 meals, and my kids and I are happy to eat a different meal each day. The worst part of being an adult is figuring out what's for dinner. Every night is a new meal from the Blackstone recipe website.

I'm a huge grill/smoker guy, but I don't quite get the outdoor griddle thing. What drew you to getting a griddle?

I'm not really a grill and certainly not a smoker guy. The ease of it, and its so damn quick.  I can cook omelets, fry onions, stir fry, bacon, pancakes with many of these things at the same time.  Last night I made steak bites with fried potatoes.

I love that I can do it outside, so I especially don't get the bacon splatter/smoke on my cabinets and surrounding areas.

We get our fair share of beggars in our shop. They always have a hardship story and usually want money for gas to get their paycheck or some other lame reason and always promised to repay us. On occasion we'd give them a bit on the off chance they were being honest and really did need the money. It usually ended up with them coming back a few more times to beg money off us and never to return the money we gave them.

Instead of just saying no we decided to give them the money if they gave us their license which we would give back to them once they repaid us. Not once did anyone accept that proposal until about two weeks ago. We gave her $20 and today we got it back with a self addressed envelope asking for us to send her license back and a very kind note of thanks. Not only did I send it back but I also let her have the $20 along with a note that $20 to know I helped an honest person in need was a bargain.

Heretic!!

Don't worry, the griddle will be his gateway drug. They like doing the pancakes and peppers outside, so gosh, maybe they should get a pellet smoker to do the chicken outside, too!

I am not bugged by air conditioning today.

I went full geothermal a few years ago, definitely not bugged by that at all. What I pay to air condition now is almost trivial, I pay more if I have to run the dehumidifier in the basement.

Didn't want this to get buried in an archived IGT, but was there an Air Force fuel tanker and two fighter jets flyover during God Bless America at Sunday's game?  I didn't see it on the replay.  I was walking from Lion's Tail brewing to Joy Ice Cream in Wauwatosa Sunday mid/late afternoon when I heard something approaching and saw the tanker and fighters fly relatively low just to the east.

I met my family for a belated birthday and we got takeout from Rocky Rococco's, took it to Lion's Tail brewing, and then went to Joy Ice Cream.  Pizza, beer, ice cream, and an air force flyover for my birthday - that's not bugging me.

Then pulled pork, ribs, brisket...

I often have our church's youth group over (since I have kids that age) for food and hangout.  One of the parents and I were talking about the last one.  They asked their kids what I made (brisket).  They said, "I'm not sure, but since it was the ****'s house, it was something smoked".

I have a type...

The flyover was for the Craftsman Truck race at the Milwaukee Mile

I've just checked in at the Comfort Inn in Cooperstown, NY.  That is not bugging me.

Two nights at $260 total.  That is not bugging me.  (given some the rates I have been paying the last few days).

All the guests are here for the same reason.

And I made it home this morning, so I am able to watch the division clinching game.

Actually glad the Cubs won yesterday.

Jimbo do you recommend flying to Albany, Syracuse, or other?  I've been thinking of taking Dad on a trip to visit the HOF for years.

Actually, we did a seven-day circle tour of New England.  The first five days belonged to my wife, with the stipulation that Day #6 was mine (Cooperstown).  We flew in and out of Providence.  I cannot recommend an airport.  Cooperstown is about 2:00 from Albany.  I suspect Syracuse is the same distance.  You'll need a rental car.

I'm willing to do a trip report.  Members can private message me and if enough interest exists, I can put something together.  No interest, then no report.

And the airline found our luggage and returned it the same day, which is not bugging me.  Even though it bugged me it was checked, tagged and sent on a completely different flight (a different thread for that).

I think you'll get a strong response for a trip report.  And I think it would make for a great article here in the offseason when news is low.  Count me in for high interest.  It's one of the few things I regret not doing in the 1.5 years I lived in the NYC area (even though it's a 4-hour drive from where I lived).

The other night I had to order dog food. So I got onto Petco and by my surprise they were offering 50% off your first repeat delivery of that specific dog food brand (Purina Pro Plan). There was also no limit on size/cost of the bag...so the $90 bag of dog food costed $45.

Idk...it ain't much, but the way prices have gone, it felt like a win.

Purina is opening a factory near me and the entry-level folks are starting at $55k. It was pretty tempting. Plus I assume like the M&M factory it's ok to snack while you're working:)

Make sure to try some dog food jelly beans before you decide to snack at the Purina plant. You may think twice. haha

It's expensive, it fluctuated between 8Mb (off wi-fi when raining) and 60Mb (from their application), but having Starlink internet is sure way better than the 0.3 Mb I was getting before.

Out in rural AK it’s been a huge game changer. A needle-mover, in the parlance of our times. Used to have to pay almost twice as much per month for the lowest package which was 40gb of crappy service.

Hopefully it's really tied all your wifi devices together.
