It's weird...I've gone from thinking the offense is blah outside of Yelich to thinkong it's like really interesting? Like, it's been fun seeing Urias get regular ABs, and Hiura's better work latelt make me intrigued, if not exactly amped.

Hedbert Perez makes a diving catch at the warning track... wow!

Not sure where else to post about this, but I saw his name ranked high on most people's prospect lists in that thread on here, but I've literally never heard of him.. where did this guy come from?

He signed with the Brewers out of Venezuela for $700k back in 2019. He’s just 17-years old (turns 18 next week). He was the youngest player to be included in the 60-man player pool at any MLB team’s alternate site last summer. Ever since he signed his stock has continued to rise even though he has yet to play an official regular season professional game. His dad, Roberto Perez, played for the Brewers very briefly near the end of his MLB career and then he went on to a very successful career playing into his 40’s in Venezuelan professional baseball.

Here’s a fun interview he did last Fall if you’re interested:

How has his stock risen so much if he's yet to play in a game?

Thanks for the info.

I jinxed it. Come to check on the game. See its 6-0 and Im staring at the acoreboard...does that really say 0 hits by Reds? Go to MLB Savant scores and boxscore loads up. 6-1. Burnes just gave up a HR to lose his no-hitter. I'm bad luck man.

We really should try to just buy out Burnes' entire career on a long-term contract right now, because he's going to be worth it.

And Alexa still doesn't even know who he is.

Sounds like she might need to meet bath water.

According to the score ap Burnes has thrown 44 pitches....38 strikes.....since he has walked a batter that seems almost impossible

ST boxscore pitch counts aren't actual pitch counts. It just adds pitches based on the events that have happened. So 3 strikes for every strikeout, 4 balls for every walk, 1 strike for every hit or out on a ball in play and so on.

Wish this game was on tv. I'd be interested in seeing what this Gallo flyball caught by LoCain, described as "Ball traveled 396 feet and left the bat at 109 mph" looked like:

Am watching yesterday’s game as I have my coffee. Watching Yelich score from first on a long single to the gap has got me fired up!

Yelich looks "right" again. Not sure he will win the MVP, but I would expect a significant rebound from his 2020 numbers.
