we are 9-6 in our last 15 games. 2/3 from the phils, 2/3 from the Cards, a sweep of the Indians, dropped 2 to the Tigers and we took 2/3 from the Cubs. We have lost *2* games in a row. I know everyone wants that clincher, but there's nothing going on here other than a regular couple games where the offense scuffles a little bit.

It's mostly a reaction to who we are playing.

Certainly we have an advantage as the only team in the NL that doesn’t have to play the Brewers.

For me, It’s 100% a reaction to who we are playing. I hate the Cardinals so much the games are very rarely enjoyable for me to watch. I’m not typically this negative but this team brings it out of me.

Poor Woodruff. Gives up one run in the 1st inning on a walk basically and he’s probably going to lose this game.

He shouldn’t be walking people then. Especially against the Cardinals, where they seem to score more often than not.

The biggest frustration I have watching this game is where most of Woodford's sliders are winding up in the zone, Bernier Brewer should have gotten a workout up and down his slide several times.

They are just not doing damage with very hittable pitches right now...still lots of game left though

The one thing I will admit is incredibly annoying here is that aside from his appearances versus the Brewers this year, Jake Woodford has had very poor results.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

I’m sure Woodruff will get pulled no matter the score or how well he’s pitching- as soon as he hits that magic “can’t risk injury” pitch count

Gotta make Reyes throw strikes. For all our consternation, I bet Cards fans are white-knuckling.

They're 2.5 up on the Reds and 4 up on the Padres. They're probably handling this better than some Brewerfans are.

Plus the only game that really matters is the one you are playing right now. Who gives cuss if the Cardinals had a lousy June or we had a great August (or whatever)? For the last couple of weeks, we have been pretty good, but they have been red hot.

Truth.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

15 innings now in this series and the Brewers have not yet had an AB with a runner in scoring position (unless they had one when I wasn’t looking).
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

That’s what being a fan of a successful franchise will do for you.

I’m sure they’re handling it a lot better. Because their team is a perennial playoff contender and has won some World Series in their lifetimes, this season is not a big deal to them. There were articles about how their fans were not excited about the second wild card spot because they had written this season off some time ago (probably when all of the projections had their chances of making the playoffs at something like 1 or 2%). So, this is now all a bonus to them.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
