It's innings like that, that make me appreciate the Brewers' defense.

I largely agree with this sentiment, but Urías is more than capable of uncorking some horrendous throws.

Why did CC have Lauer pitch run there?

Because Vogey is the slowest player in all of baseball

I understand why CC had a pitch runner for Vogey but why Lauer instead of a position player?

We needed insurance runs, and having Barrel Man on the bases was probably not conducive to that.

Only the sixth inning, why waste another position player there.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

I guess Lauer is pretty fast, they said he was a WR

Heuer in again for the Cubs to save the game for the Cards for the second day in a row.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Do the Cubs hate us more than they hate the Cards now, or is there really no better option in their pen? No matter—let’s just finish it right here.

Honestly I’m looking forward to wrapping this up on our own terms. And then we can go end the Cards’ win streak with nothing to lose.

Cards with 2 runs in so far and the ball hasn’t left the infield yet.

A variety of bunts, infield grounders, walks (some intentional) and a wild pitch did the trick.

I mean, the fact that a 16-game September win-streak, including 4 against the team in front of you, still leaves you a week out of first with a week to go shows how bad you were from April to August.

Not sure that’s reassuring. How any team played in April has no bearing on right now.

If a small blue wristband on Williams’ glove hand bothers hitters then no wonder the Mets can’t hit, they’re looking at the wrong thing!
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Good to see Williams back in action with a clean inning.

Does Hader come in for the third day in a row?

Or give Strickland a shot? Don’t want to mess around.
