I like this first shirt from the merchandise options, but found the sweatshirt interesting since it has a cooler that reads “Brewed in Milwaukee Wisconsin” that apparently didn’t make the cut for the uniforms. D7D70C74-9133-4BE3-A8CC-50C42C49E09A.jpeg

I originally came here to say that if they make that lil grill into a patch and/or decal, I will be throwing money at them.

But that lil cooler is ADORABLE, though dang if I need another Brewers hoodie anymore.

Do any of you know precisely when the Brewers adopted the "Brew Crew"  nickname?

I remember there being a sign on the back of the leftfield bleacher seating area at County Stadium that said "True Blue Brew Crew", though I don't know when that originated.  Was it there all the way back in 1970?

Eh, the Angels are more of an Orange County team. The beach thing makes sense.

Anaheim is 20 miles from the nearest beach. And a lousy beach at that.

That pullover is ?????

I love this design.  Next up is Colorado, I love that mountain green design so much more than any other design they have

I seem to remember it being out there on the back wall of the bleachers in the mid-seventies. Almost positive it doesn't go back to '70 though.

Just noticed that the base of the grill is an "M".  I think they could have altered that just a bit to look more like one of the Brewers past logos.

How about another Brewers t-shirt?

That was one of the first things I noticed about the grill when I saw it.  Maybe it is a slight nod to the past?

He is clearly not a fan. I think he is being a tad bit harsh on the jersey top itself. While I'm not a fan of the hat, being critical of the 414 when not everyone in Milwaukee has that area code is pretty harsh as well.

The article states Brewers will wear a sleeve patch advertising a different local tavern each time they wear the CC uniforms.

That was a detail that was unknown until I saw this article. I guess its fine, but since they will be wearing these about 15 times (i think), a handful of bars will get a massive free plug. If I was in the tavern league of Wisconsin, and weren’t selected, I wouldn’t be happy. I assume the tavern of the game is just rotated and since its daily, more bars get the plug.

So what's the final verdict on the City Connect jerseys? I like a powder blue jersey, but it came up a little short. He's a couple tweaks to make it look more like an MLB baseball jersey and not a softball jersey. I wasn't a fan of the hat and helmet, too much power blue. It should of been used as the bill color if at all, and navy being the primary cap color. Feels more balanced that way. I would have liked to see them wear their regular caps with this set.

They seemed very popular around the state and at games, the "average fan" thought they were cool, and most likely people younger than me. I do like the grill and cooler secondary sleeve logos, but not for on field use. Maybe just for shirts.

I thought the City Connect uniforms were a gimmick to sell more merchandise, but the players must've liked them because they seemingly wore them a lot.

Your re-design simply takes the City Connect jersey back to what the Brewers actually wore as a road uniform a generation ago. 1977 Baseball Cards Update | Baseball cards, Brewers baseball, Milwaukee brewers baseball

As others have noted, the hat is pretty bad and overall the look is somewhere in the lower half of the City Connects that we have seen so far. However, I love the powder blue and "Brew Crew" was the correct choice for the front lettering. The Brewers made it difficult with their recent rebrand stealing some of the potential options.

Which isn't a bad thing at all.

Why yes, yes it does. Just like the current Brewers uniforms do as well. They take a little something from all of the 70's and 80's uniforms. Just like most modern MLB uniforms do that are done right like the Padres, Jays.

The hat was great for what they were going for. I wouldn't wear it...but then again, I wouldn't wear any sports team hat.

If you don't like the hat, chances are you are a good 2x the age of the intended target audience.

I'd like to know how sales of the Brewers' City Connect merchandise compares to the City Connect sales of other teams.  From the time that product line was made available, it felt like I saw *tons* of people wearing the merch at the ballpark - sometimes whole families wearing the jersey.  (And in this economy!)

I don't even know who in the org to ask about that.  Someone has to be keeping track.

Good question, I would imagine they probably didn't sell as much as other teams just because how saturated the Brewers market for team gear already is.

They have a home white jersey, the home pinstripes, the alternate blue jersey, the travelling greys and the city connect uniform all coming out in the last two years. Hats are a bit better with only three: the all blue cap, the blue cap with the yellow panel, and the city connect cap.

That's not including the one time stuff like the Cervecaros line (do they still sell those)?

But I suppose, the old maxim "give the people what they want" is why there are so many different uniform jerseys and hats available for sale.
