This is so done if hader is bad

but of course we scored one run again

ridiculous

Its time to trade Hader this team just isn't good and letting him walk for nothing after next season would be stupid.

Ump had some iffy calls in the later innings though on both sides.

Miranda friggin’ crushed that ball.

A split is a pretty reasonable outcome for both teams. They’re pretty equally matched.

Yep. 2 mediocre at best teams.

No thread discussing Huira getting optioned?

Especially when Rowdy has been atrocious over the past week, the timing is weird.  Guess they want to run him into the ground before the break instead of going with a day or two off now.

Now the Brewers get to move on to face one of the top LHP in the NL in a park that isn’t homer friendly and with the back end of the bullpen likely unavailable.

Burnes is going to have his work cut out for him. 6 or 7 shutout innings might not be enough, just like it wasn’t in his last start.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Both of these teams are the best in a bad division. That's really my takeaway.

The Twins can really hit. Baserunners all day today, even in a game where they struggled. If you could merge these rosters, you'd have a World Series favorite.

Oh goodie.  Now we're off to SF.

It must be nice to have a team that can hit...

Counsell is pretty adamant about how he wants to do things. It's either having courage of his convictions, or being pigheaded & inflexible, depending on whether the team is winning or losing. This hasn't been an attractive stretch for him. Very interesting 2-and-a-half weeks coming up.

Hader struggles continue

The first runner shouldn't have been on base.  Even the YouTube announcers thought he swung.  The next guy got a gift ball and got ahead in the at bat.   What are ya gonna do?

Not give up a homerun?

Yep, two decent teams in bad divisions. The Twins can mash, the Brewers can pitch (particularly if Peralta comes back healthy). Both teams are flawed in significant ways.

Maybe we should merge teams and play half the home games in Milwaukee and half in Minneapolis. At least we’d be able to claim a World Series victory in the combined franchise’s history.

If I were an MLB manager I would never use my closer in a tie game.

I can't explain this logically, but YES!  Hader is good for one thing, and ONLY one thing: getting a save in 1 inning. (And he's not perfect at it, but who is?)

With this offensive juggernaut it makes complete sense to send Hiura who has been the best hitter on this team to AAA.

What happened top the irony font?
