Save some slot money with that pick - I like him, typical Brewers up the middle guy.

Save money is the same as saying overdrafted.

I think this was the classic - an improving prospect that is a tremendous athlete with a very high ceiling. True shortstop skills that could bring some power to the position as well

Wow, laughably bad pick. He hasn't hit and might not be a SS. The Brewers no long produce hitters because they no longer draft good hitters.

Why do I even get excited about their drafts anymore?

Yeah they are terrible at developing talent lately, why bother.

no one knows anything.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

They've literally said that he's one of the best defensive shortstops in college baseball.  He absolutely will stick at SS.

Fangraph's  had as the 35th player on their big board.  Not really a big overdraft.  He was lower on MLBs list but whatever.

Some excerpts from the FanGraphs scouting report…

Brown is one of the best athletes in the draft class, he has exceptional range at shortstop, and his swing is so explosive that it makes him dangerous even though he has middling raw power.”

He is extremely difficult to make swing and miss, and while he doesn't have the arm for shortstop, he's a premium infield athlete who could be plus at second base. He's not likely to hit for big power, but Brown still projects as a middle infielder with a plus bat,”

Eric Brown reportedly hit 61% of his batted balls greater than 95-mph.

Looks like the majority of them are hit on the ground so he can be the next Brewers player to hit really hard groundouts.

Sign him and have him replace Wong.  He'll fit right in with those hard hit outs.

You are absolutely correct and the Brewers scouting department is full of them.

The team that’s won the 6th most games in baseball since 2018 with a payroll that is a fraction of their competition is bad at scouting?

Tough crowd.

So what's the plan? To add more loft? Will that be enough to add a ton of production? He's not good now, playing in a bad conference.
