Not a fan of the HUGE Oxy advertising on the Astros sleeves.

Only a matter of time before the Brewers join in on the advertising on the jerseys nonsense.  The nike swoosh is bad enough...

I don't mind equipment makers to put their logo on stuff but boy I dislike the sleeve advertisements...

Who had back to back shutout wins on the bingo card?

And by Rea and Houser as the starting pitchers?

Man, gotta be tough to be an Astros fan.

Sure, you've got last year's World Series to fall back on, but getting shutout back to back games by a Brewers team who isn't even very good, definitely isn't a championship contender, and is only in first place because of a lackluster division has really gotta take some of the lustre off.

Rowdy should honestly be our DH.

Rowdy/Ruf DH platoon.

Contreras - C

Miller - 1B

Turang - 2B

Urias - 3B

Adames - SS

Yelich - LF

Wiemer - CF

Anderson - RF

With Caratini, Brosseau, Taylor, Ruf on the bench. Honestly might be our strongest team at the moment.

An impressive series win and rebound from Monday. Now gotta keep it up against the mediocre Giants.

Wood, Webb and Cobb are tough.

I've been beating the drum for awhile now that Anderson should be entrenched at 3B, but with Urias inching his way back & Miller performing at a high level that isn't in the cards.

Watching SF play Minnesota right now. Losing 7-1 with 14 LOB through 8. That’s not easy to do.

Really good Houser showed up through 5 innings today……..love to see it.

He followed up a good start......with another good start. I think that's significant.

Kinda frustrating to me that he can deal into the sixth, yet he's still gone after 70-some pitches and you once again need to get 11 outs from the pen. You can't argue with CC's BP decisions & usage because the results speak for themselves, Still it would be nice if you didn't have to spend every trade deadline needing to add BP arms due to the high usage.

They probably need to build Houser up some more, given the plan was to use him out of the pen.

That said... maybe he ought to stick around for a bit. When he's on, he's very good.

Wonder what kind of odds Vegas would have given on that

Runners on 2nd and 3rd (partially due to an error) with one out and Alvarez at the plate.  Perfect justification to go w/one of your best relievers there even if it's a short start.  Alvarez could have easily given the Astros the lead there.

If it's anyone other than their 2-4 hitters, Houser likely gets an opportunity to pitch through it.

One thing you can be absolutely certain about in baseball, is that you cannot be absolutely certain about anything in baseball.

Who bet on Tampa losing 20-1 to the Jays? (OK, it was more like 10-0 as the Rays gave up and let me pitch a couple of innings.)

Disappointments are inevitable, but we have had some very nice surprises this year.

That Rowdy error really hurt. There's a chance that whole inning goes differently if Houser has 2 outs against Bregman. Also it's a lot easier to let pitchers pitch deep into games when you have bigger than a 1-2 run lead so the offense performing better would help as well.

Houser rattling off good starts with him actually using his FB up in the zone consistently?

Who would have guessed? Now someone needs to relay this message to Corbin Burnes so he can start utilizing the top of the zone and dominating again.
