When I saw Perkins in the lineup on another site I wondered if Yelich was going on the IL.

With Yelich and Anderson that’s two guys who aren’t likely to be used for anything today. Hard to argue with Wiemer being sent down.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Watch wiemer have to come back because yelich won’t be able to play in playoffs.    Ugh

If Yelich couldn’t go in the playoffs lineup would probably be Canha, Frelick, Taylor in the OF with Santana, Turang, Adames, Monasterio around the IF, Contreras catching and Donaldson at DH.

If one of those three OF went down in addition to Yelich, it appears Perkins is the next man up as of now.

Would pretty much need three OF to go down at this point before Wiemer’s name comes up in the starting lineup.

And even then, Mitchell could pass him in the interim.

I wasn't convinced Wiemer would be optioned, but have no problem with it. A rare mix of size, speed, talent & athleticism that needs to play. I wish he had more than a week left at Nashville.

In 2021 they had the big division lead, & CC went pretty heavily into resting guys. It's the thing to do when you have the opportunity, I just hope he doesn't overdo it if/when the time comes. They finished 4-10 that year, not exactly the way you want to finish up.

Resting is fine as long as it doesn't take our hot guys and make them unhot.

Yellach will play unless his back is that messed up. Counsell knows what he is doing as far as the lineup gos Counsells weakness is the choosing who to bring in from the bullpen IMHO.

Brewers relievers are 2nd in MLB for Win Probability Added on the season.

Only four bullpens - BAL (17), ATL (19), HOU (21) and TOR (21) - have lost fewer games than the Brewers with 23.

Counsell doesn’t always make the right call, but he does so with higher frequency than most of his fellow managers.

That is because of Deven Williams, Bryse Wilson, Payamps and Hoby.  Chafen has been a disaster.

The last guy in every team’s bullpen is typically a disaster. Most teams have a couple two tree back there.

That’s why Counsell has limited Chafin’s innings to only 11 since being acquired, which ranks 8th in the bullpen over that stretch.

Pitching your worst reliever the fewest amount of innings and predominantly in low leverage situations seems like a sound strategy.
