Doubt it gets to then. Even if we lose both games to a Cardinals team missing Arenado and Contreras, the Braves are going to be trying to win.

I’m like 90% tongue in cheek but it still wouldn’t shock me if it happened that way.  If they lose the first game to the Cardinals and Cubs win then I’d for sure take a bet.

Cardinals are missing all of their players and are throwing bad pitchers the entire series. Braves are going to be trying to win. I'll take it whenever you're ready to offer it.

The Cubs play the Braves next. And the Braves are going to be throwing Elder on Tuesday and will have every reason to at least try to keep guys fresh. Plus, those bats against the Cubs already weak (and now stressed after two close games against the Rockies) bullpen.

Then you're crazy. Cubs are going to play three games versus the best team in baseball which is trying to win, while the Brewers are going to play three games versus a bad team throwing bad pitchers and which has almost all of its good hitters out.

There is no pressure. It would be nice to celebrate the division with a win but the Cubs are not sweeping the Braves. Just the reality of the situation.

Not the worst outcome.  Marlins stay within striking distance of the Cubs and, more importantly, all of the Brewers key bullpen pieces get two consecutive days off. 

Brewers just took 3 of 4 at STL and the Cubs are at ATL.  We won't have to wait long.
